Google: "We threw away decades of search knowledge and Internet indexing and just made an answer up :blobfoxgoogly:"
Bing: "Here's 100 tangentially related pages from 2010 that I only included because your query appears in a tag cloud in the website's footer"
DuckDuckGo: "Here are the Bing results, only with ✨privacy✨"
Reddit: (this user has deleted their entire post history using PowerDeleteMyShit. Fuck /u/Spez)
Yahoo: "Oh thank god, someone's actually using our search engine! No, we're not just Bing!" frantically trying to cover up the giant Bing sticker "NO DON'T GO TO GOOGLE!!!!"
Yandex: "Here are all of the Russian-owned resources on this topic. Only Russian sources are trustworthy. Everything else is fake ne—I MEAN, misinformation"
Kagi: "We'll give you what Google used to give you for free, for the low low price of $10/month!"
Ask.com: [hoarse screaming and clawing noises can be heard from the ground beneath a headstone that says "Here lies Jeeves: 1996-2006"]
@RickiTarr Real talk, I've always wanted to buy one of those old surplus missile silos the government has sold off and refit it to look like a hobbit hole. Underground lair all the way...
My only critique of the last 3 episodes of #doctorwho all playing with the format and not being "normal" doctor who episodes is that the season is too short with only 8 episodes.
It feels like we're not getting enough time with the new doctor and companion
@howiecohen Technically Kamatera Cloud, but it gets cached on Bunny CDN so you're using a teeny tiny bit of power all over the globe to make your point.
I’m shocked that Skydance Media is buying Paramount Global for $8B!
Especially since Paramount’s current market cap is $8.9B. Just a few years ago, their market cap was $35B. And just a few years, they merged with Viacom.
This is the company that owns CBS, Showtime, the Star Trek franchise, and more.
I feel that $8B is a pittance for that entire media portfolio.
You know who mostly owns Skydance? Larry Ellison’s son, David.
Just got an email from a small company that I truly do love a lot, sharing a job posting "looking for a high energy, young person, excited to be...on our team." sigh
Almost there, except for that completely illegal and ageist bit.
@howiecohen Sad part is they probably want somebody young because they are not experienced or confident enough to speak up when they are taken advantage of.
This is another tone deaf AI pitch from a tech CEO. A valuable feature for workers would be intelligent summaries of meetings you didn’t attend.
A deepfake me that can attend my Zoom calls and make decisions is at best hype and at worst insulting to other meeting attendees.
I’ll make him a deal. I’ll use this tech when Zoom’s CEO uses this tech to attend Zoom calls for earnings reports and his leadership meetings so he can spend more time with his family.
Hey FoD’s, our Code 47 segments can “ramble on and on about some things everybody gets shown.” Should we keep it as is, move it exclusively to YouTube, or occasionally have an Oops All Code47 episode? Let us know!
A friend of mine just shared this because some random bigot on his FB was kicking off that the Duo owl would be pro-LGBT+ rights ("I'll DELETE THE APP!! OMG"). Obviously this is hilariously tragic and bigots should fuck off but I feel like there's a deeper question that needs answering here.
