the semester is over and we're now working on cleaning, tidying, and sprucing up the joint with some comfier chairs and a new couch 😍

We are a very open space, welcoming any and all, and that is almost always positive... but sometimes it means things wander away or get put back in odd locations.

In this case, our copy of The First Artificial Intelligence Coloring Book has gone missing... if you remember seeing it in the lab in a strange place that we might not think to look, please let us know?

on the one hand, had a meeting with a dean that actually cheered me up. when does that ever happen?? on the other hand, the instigator of the original grump? slipping into self-narrativizing about how terrible my class was going while I was teaching said class to the point where I was struggling to concentrate on what I was saying & what students were saying thereby making a probably fine situation decidedly worse. academia in a neurotic lil' nutshell.

@loriemerson although perhaps not pertinent to your #othernetworks book - you may enjoy some of the activity happening on #marchintosh and #globaltalk right now

a bunch of us have created our own worldwide network of ancient macintoshes running the Appletalk protocol using 35 year old internet routing software apple designed for corporations. it wraps up Appletalk packets, tunnels them through IP (UDP), and routes packets between all of our machines.

the cool thing is that people can send print jobs to each other's 40 year old printers just for kicks, or copy files directly from one another's hard drives. it's like being on a worldwide macintosh LAN 😆
