Beautiful, this is why indigenous people loved the Scots and the Irish so much

Another one taken from real life … I just finished watching ‘Filip’ … a 2023 Polish film that is an autobiographical story of a young Polish Jew who survived through the war in the most unusual circumstances. The real life writer this was based on was Leopold Tyrmand.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filip_(film)

I know we see and read stories of the war so much and so often now that it almost sounds like some cheap cliche and that these stories no longer really affect us all that much any more … it’s in the distant past that no longer concerns us and it almost feels like they don’t matter any more.

I have several family members who in the First World War, relatives who were in the Second World War and I’ve met and made friends with several European survivors of the Second World War … Polish men and women who survived the war as young men and women, French resisters, Danish survivors who lived through the war as children and teens.

It’s frightening to see and relive the lives of the survivors that had to endure all this.

It’s even more frightening that we are all becoming numb to this history, forgetting it all and believing that it can never possibly happen again.

Then by the late Middle Ages we would have had the Holy Roman Pharmaceutical Corporation.

The dangerous thing about them is that they are liable to lean to authoritarian fascism if they think that they could benefit from it.

They should counter sue him for ‘suffered and experienced fear and anxiety due to the anticipated loss of DEMOCRACY’

“We choose to go to the moon, not because it is easy but because it is hard”

The previous social model of monetizing everything is also not working and terribly complicated and sends the majority of the profit to those who contributed nothing but their claims to ownership and entitlement. I’d rather live a world where we were constantly debating and discussing while sending the majority of wealth to those people who actually created something.

Human cooperation will never be easy so we have to learn to live with that reality.

The comparison of users to active monthly users sounds about right … 10 million users with about 1 million active monthly users

The usual ratio of lurkers to creators … 10 to 1 … the majority of everyone just browses no matter which platform it is … it’s the same in any social circle since the dawn of time … there’s only a small group of creators and everyone else just like to watch / read / listen

That’s what everyone would like us to believe. Everyone has a unique story and background and to me they are all interesting.

It’s just that we are all conditioned to think that we are not worthy enough to share our stories. If we believe we aren’t worthy … then we are not. But the opposite is also true, if we believe we are good enough and that our stories are worthy, then they take on a life of their own and become important.

I always enjoy quoting George Carlin because he was a proponent of the power of belief … society and the individuals in that society believe whatever they want to believe

“I have as much power as the pope … I just don’t have as many people who believe it” - George Carlin

Trying to save money by not buying the big expensive name brand thing and instead spending two weeks building / creating / crafting it yourself with the same budget but it doesn’t work so you end up buying the big expensive name brand thing anyway and realize you lost two weeks and spent twice as much money.

It makes you imagine that we all exist inside an infinite slow moving cosmic soup of some kind.

I’ve always reminded myself of my own inevitable end and a recent Star Trek episode put it in a new light for me.

Star Trek, Strange New Worlds Season One Episode One.

La’an: Do you know the last thing they felt?

Captain Pike: Surprised.

La’an: Because right up until the last moment, they… couldn’t imagine dying.

None of us ever expect to die because we don’t want to and we will all feel like that right up to the end.

We are all aware of the end but the terror comes when we can see it becoming reality very soon.
