The elections are for the parliament at Westminster, London.

They have held multiple elections on the same day before. It never works well. People get confused about who they are voting for.

This is going to sound dumb...

I've wondered for years why I couldn't send emoji in text messages (MMS).

Quite by accident, I've discovered that, all this time, I could. All I had to do was press, and hold, the enter button on the AOSP keyboard. This raises the emoji selector.

Why did no-one tell me?

The boards are comprised of the usual mix of the "great and good". That isn't representative of the local community.

I live not far from the border of the Cairngorm NP. I have never heard a good word about it from LOCALS. NPs being a good thing is usually a view expressed by city folk.

It's so sad. I have a couple of yellow azalea bushes (Ròs-chraobh - Rhododendron luteum) outside the kitchen window. As the name suggests they produce lovely yellow flowers. However, the flowers only ever last about a week, before they droop-down and fall off.

The bumblebees are making the most of it as I type. So, there is that.

Someone in the village must have got a fat fine or even a ban for #speeding - the local speedwatch sign has been destroyed - even though the electronic "SLOW DOWN" sign cannot result in a charge even if it contains a camera (some do!) -All that happens is after repeated hits the registration mark is put on a list, driver gets a warning and the list sent to #Suffolk Constabulary (so they would have to be repeat offenders to actually get a ticket) #RoadSafety

Solar powered electronic sign that shows 30 SLOW DOWN if you drive past it at >30 mph (it might have a camera inside it, about half of these signs (which appear on various rural and suburban streets from time to time) do contain camera.

Ach, never mind warnings, just fines and points on the licence. I can forgive people for speeding on the open road. I've got no time for speeders in towns and villages. Too many lives are at risk.

I can appreciate the problem. One of the local villages has a long straight going through it. It isn't uncommon for cars and lorries to thunder through at 60+mph, when the speed limit is 30mph. Worrying when walking the dog along the pavement, never mind kids playing on side streets. There is a speed sign, but, it only gives a warning, nothing else.

Indeed! Hard to tell without clicking the number.

I've noticed that the first thing many people do when you give them your mobile number is enter it into WhatsApp. My mobile number might've leaked from that.
