#kriegskinder#kriegsenkel
@skaly In the article it says „possible“. Thus it‘s not 100%. What i‘ve learned from the videos posted by H. and other groups, it sometimes it‘s hard to tell if it‘s a civilian or a terrorist.
(seen a guy shooting a RPG clad in sweatpants, t-shirt and flip-flops - from his actions -> terrorist, from his clothes -> civilian 🤔)
The list of organizations that are dead to me went from zero to this in just 2 months.
The Red Cross
UN
Women and Feminist organizations
The progressive caucus
Ivy League colleges and other universities #Israel
@carolw i‘ve seen the point you made about the RC a few days back. Still i can‘t understand it since the RC has no hard power at all. And, as sad as it is, in this conflict/war/?? hard power only is counting.
@carolw Helping the Israeli hostages while not bringing their people on the ground in harm‘s way is their goal.
W/ a predictable party you can chose harsher words as w/ an unpredictable (Hamas 100% belong to the latter). Especially if you want to stay in a conversation.
I can understand your frustration and POV about them while i‘m seeing the totally f‘d up situation they are in too.
“Maria Julia Assis was sitting down to a meal in her terraced home in north London when her 6-year-old son ran into the dining room, his face pale.
The puzzle game on his Android phone had been interrupted by a video showing Hamas militants, terrified Israeli families and blurred graphic footage. Over a black screen, a message from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the first grader: ‘WE WILL MAKE SURE THAT THOSE WHO HARM US PAY A HEAVY PRICE.’”
@aral He built a bridge between the occupation and these attacks as a result of the 1st.
But sadly forgot that Arab leaders constantly failed their people throughout history of this conflict in a massive way.
Excellent piece on the British roots of the conflict in #Palestine and the impact of colonial “divide and rule” strategies here and elsewhere:
“In British India, they pushed the Hindu-Muslim divide, sometimes favoring one population, sometimes the other. In Cyprus, they pitted the Greeks against the Turks. In Sri Lanka, it was the Tamils against the Sinhalese. In Ireland, it was the Catholics against the Protestants. The list goes on.“
@pvonhellermannn To be honest, this is sort of a blame game which is part of the past. We can‘t change that. We only can learn from it. We can solve problems at the present or trying to achieve something in the future. We should concentrate on that and do our most to achieve it.
Success today on many fronts! Eighty seconds of plank, 25 pushups, started with my and I (slowly) completed my first half-marathon around #Ottawa since the injury side-lined me. Now, if I'm honest, the last five or so kilometres were a very real struggle - that annoying little voice to just stop that many runners have heard got very loud, but I managed to push it aside. Very sore, but pleased. #Running
@WTL cool run. i know this voice as well on longer steep uphill rides w/ my MTB. 🤜🤛
funny side note: now i know where Gatineau is. Heard quite a few times of it. Cheers
@ViolaB Haha. Ja mei, wird schon. Es spielt auch eine Menge Zufall mit rein. Manche Leut checken es auch gar nicht, wenn jemand Interesse hat bzw. flirten will.
Frauen sind da wesentlich subtiler als Männer. 😉
So I associate High German with trauma, which is largely not its fault, it's just that a lot of horrible shit has happened to me in the language since I started speaking it.
But I actually enjoy language learning when there is no pressure to survive in it administratively. I might dabble a bit while recovering if my mind is up to it.
So I'm vacillating between French (my French is AWFUL), Italian (I sort of understand it), and Swiss German.
