I did 2 miles tonight. Knee isn't worse, so that's good news. Achilles tendon hurts, so I'm going to back off the pace and rebuild my base from scratch very slowly.

No races planned, but I would consider the lookout mountain 20 this December

Now I can’t donate again for a longer period, but I guess the logic is economic: “a unit in hand today is worth more than the promise of a unit later.”

@mlawton I give regularly, especially now that I'm not training, but they need to ease on on the aggressive phone calls. Same for blood assurance. They are driving people away

@recollir it's mostly annoying to me because they just added a bunch of tiles instead of addressing real issues people have been having.

I obviously haven't been using it much in the last 216 days since the surgery. When I do open it up, it was hiding things I frequently used, or they were gone all together. most of those issues have been resolved since the beta ended.

I agree with how it handles gear. strava is much better at it, and I've used it exclusively for that for years.

I see some people are complaining that garmin is using the app to push ads for their products now. seems like it isn't affecting everyone yet.

I would have made syncing workouts faster, and offline the top priority. Coros does this so much better. I may actually switch since the same features you mentioned are just fluff.

I have a new boss. That last one was fired. The new one I think also lied about qualifications. He seems to no nothing about how to deal with clients and proofs.

@mlawton not a chance. Since the position shouldn't exist (really) he has to justify his existence. So he holds up projects, refuses to let the clients see anything until it's finished like it's a birthday surprise. They are very frustrated, but feel like they can't say anything. These clients have bosses too that want updates, and they can't give them any because they haven't seen it yet.

If I spend any amount of time in other corners of the Internet I'm reminded just how awful other social sites are. Sure there are a few nice people, but most are just awful.

I've been testing my knee off and on to see what it can do. Very short tests. I have a steep driveway about 100 meters. So I run uphill back to the house after checking the mail or dragging the cans to the road.
It's uphill, so very low risk of injury. It's also very short. Each week there is a tiny improvement.
I'm patient, but this is pushing my limits. The depression was expected, but still difficult. This was a huge part of my life for 8 years.

17 weeks post surgery.

I say all of this not to vent, but as a reminder to have a backup plan if it's suddenly taken away from you. I made peace with myself before the race. I said I would be ok with it if that was the last one. Running in Leadville was a bucket list race. However, I would really like to go back. I'm not done yet.

I know I've been mostly MIA for a while. It's depressing that I can't run. 12 weeks since the surgery has come and gone. The pain is slowly getting worse. Going in for one last appointment with my Ortho tomorrow. Cigna is forcing me to find all new providers Jan 1 🙄

The only running I've done is chase dogs. I ran after that wolf looking dog this morning. He was sitting in the front yard just staring at me. Even that short sprint caused a limp the rest of the day. I'm really annoyed because that surgery was $50k. For that kind of cash I expected to have a winter soldier type of leg

@LouisIngenthron @carnage4life easy there. not all marketing is evil. We create everything necessary to sell a product. without it, products ship in a plain cardboard box. the products are also void of any design or story. Sure a digital product is different, but marketing is vital for any business, even the ones pretending like they don't use it.

There are no pictures, stories, descriptions, press releases, videos, anything without a marketing department. You're conflating different things. Most people think of marketing as some description made up in a boardroom to sell an otherwise mediocre product. While true, that's only a sliver of what a marketing department does
