I try and watch RAW every week and I gatta say my favourite right now is the ladies tag team champs, the Ricochet/Dragonov/Bron three bubbling story line and the fact that all of Alpha Academy is going to turn on Chad Gabble. Its all very engaging.

My hobby is making old hardware usable again. I'm on a 2012 Macbook Air running Fedora 40. Even driving an external monitor it's very responsive.

I've compiled perl and ruby from source on this machine, and other than walking away to get some coffee the laptop handled it just fine. Even this old, "obsolete" mba has a lot of life left in it.

The reason I dislike node/npm

Just cloned three year old project and build fails. Just three years.

Probably a skill issue but how can I make sure that #nodejs projects can withstand time a bit better?

@Two9A I think every shuffle in the app is solvable. The app also lets me restart the shuffle if I get blocked and doesn’t count against my win streak. So there are a few conditions in my favour.

I'm reading (and really enjoying) Working Effectively with Legacy Code but I am curious if the fediverse has recommendations on a synthesis of that book I can give my team? I want us to start focusing more on testing and design patterns that permit testing but I do not know where to start (without assigning them to read a whole textbook)

@cursedsql holy crap thanks for the advice - I remember reading about the Strangler Fig and completely forgot the name of the pattern. I just keep explaining to to my team as like "slowly take over it with new stuff until we can replace the old stuff."
