Oh my good FCKING GOD.
Friend in the UK who has just been on a CRUISE posting that she has "caught a cold on the plane on the way home" but that she had a bit of a sore throat on the ship which she put down to the air conditioning. Several others travelling with her also have "a cold".
We are in YEAR FIVE of this fvcking PANDEMIC people.
IT'S NOT A COLD.

Fuck anyone who thinks rocking up to work alongside others when they have COVID is ok (including Lady Gaga).

Also, the idea that she gave support staff the choice with full disclosure? Laughable given the power dynamic and what would likely happen to someone who said no.

The same goes for folks who do this for parties, going to the pub/club, etc etc…

… and those folks who “just have a nasty cold/allergies” and decide to risk other’s health when they know it’s not that really.

This sort of causal ableism/eugenics might be normal by the standards you’re used to, but that doesn’t make it ethical.

What is the biggest difference between life in this era and say... European feudalism?

I would argue it's near universal literacy. And along with simply having access to the written word, the highest percentage of a population armed with some scraps of what you might call a "liberal arts education"

The ability to self-teach.
