Thanks for updating pixey.org, hopefully you have a moment to update gram.social too, a few users were experiencing issues that are fixed in the latest commits.

I also just shipped a big anti-spam/abuse improvement, no more spam registrations from cloud servers (no action req'd, it's enabled by default https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/blob/dev/config/pixelfed.php#L264-L267)

On Pixelfed, blocking Mastodon accounts doesn't make them unfollow yours, doesn't prevent them from seeing your timeline, receiving your new posts, boosting them and liking them. It just prevents your account and notifications from counting and displaying boosts, likes and comments they make to your posts.

I think @pixelfed is the first fediverse project to ship a list (1.6 MB) of cloud server ip address ranges that are used to block access to auth and api routes by default.

Abuse and spam mitigation are crucial to any platforms success, and I hope other projects copy us. #pixelfed #safety #fediverse

This is a temporary fix, we're working on a long term solution that more intelligently detects legitimate requests.

Spammers have registered hundreds of random 5 digit accounts on pixelfed.social by using the in-app registration APIs.

None of the accounts were able to verify email address or become active thanks to the magic app links.

I recommend disabling this with PF_ALLOW_APP_REGISTRATION=false until we put in place more rate limits to these endpoints. #pixelfed

At the recent #pixelfed board meeting, the chairman (Tuk) submitted a motion to ban all dog posts on Pixelfed and make #caturday a national holiday.

The dog ban was narrowly defeated but the caturday motion passed, every Saturday is officially #caturday 🙄

Hi, I think there is still some issues on the android app or on pixelfed.uno instance. The app homepage always give me this attached message. Public and Network feeds seem to work correctly. If can help, I have a Pixel 6 with android 13.

I know #caturday is over but what an iconic pose

I've always been more of a dog person, until this majestic beast came into my life

He follows me around and cuddles with me, and mostly ignores my partner who raised him from a kitten.

Ironically enough my dog follows my partner around and sleeps at his feet.

I have a few domains, but earlier today I registered the most expensive domain.

It cost so much because it's a "premium domain", and will be used in an upcoming #pixelfed feature!
