How do you folks who follow many hundreds or thousands of people manage your timelines? I only follow a couple hundred, plus a couple hashtags, and it already feels like too much at times. I sometimes miss the folks I want to catch up on. I’ve blocked some abusers of the boost, but how do you make it through a timeline of so many?

A terrific hike today! 15 miles. Beautiful weather. As soon as I sat down at home, I felt like I been run over by a bus.
Getting old ain't no fun! 😂

bryan,

@riversidebryan 15 miles ain’t no joke! Of course, we’re a little hillier here, but still!

I block people who reply to my posts telling me that I'm Mastodoning wrong. This is the best and most correct use of Mastodon.

bryan,

@evacide how does one Mastodon ‘wrong’?

One of the best things about journaling is that you can start off on a path thinking you know where it ends, only to arrive at a completely different conclusion. Very cathartic at times.

    Anyone feeling adventurous?

Perhaps I’m being a little too sensitive, but yesterday, a superior of mine told me to tuck in my shirt, and it offended me.

I was dressed in navy chinos and a nice button down shirt, but I’d been at my desk for almost 8 hours and wanted to be comfortable. I was preparing for a televised night meeting where I’d present in front of a government body.

I’ve led these hearings 8-10 times per year for going on six years now. I have never, not once, not tucked in my shirt for a public hearing.

I just saw a video on Instagram where a woman used a bit of water to get the last of the sauce out of a jar, and the top comment was someone saying "why on earth would you use water? It has no flavour, you should use wine, beer, chicken stock..."

I swear social networks have made people think that everyone is in a competition to live the most optimum and perfect life possible.

    bryan,

@chrishannah I see this WAY more in spaces where people don’t use their real names.

We have an annual pass for the Oregon Zoo. We can hop the train from our house to avoid the parking hell.

At REI trying to find a new hat, and the struggle is real for team Huge Head.

    bryan,

@alexandra well hello, 7-7/8 checking in.

    bryan,

@alexandra I had to look this up, but size 6-5/8 is actually about 21-1/2 inches and 7-7/8 is 24-5/8 inches. So I’m over 3 inches larger. Which makes me wish I wouldn’t have sought out this information, lol.

My property abuts two roads that don’t connect. My yard is often the shortest path between two
points, for kids coming and going to school, or adults trying to catch a train at the MAX station.

My camera catches people cutting through my garden all day. Recently, some kids trampled my acorn squash.

Instead of putting up a fence, I decided to clear away some landscaping for a path around my garden. It doesn’t take a degree in urban planning to know these two roads should’ve connected.
