bionicjoey,

You can’t guarantee it will live on, but unfortunately it’s more assured if you use somebody else’s platform to host your content. For example I can still go watch TotalBiscuit videos since he put them on YouTube (and also because his widow keeps up the channel)

bionicjoey,

You would think more of the skills would transfer over

bionicjoey,

I think it sounds a bit like the verb “to humour” as in to play along with someones crap.

What is the Legal copyright on a Lemmy Post?

Most instances don’t have a specific copyright in their ToS, which is basically how copyright is handled on corporate social media (Meta/X/Reddit owns license rights to whatever you post on their platform when you click “Agree”). I’ve noticed some people including Copyright notices in posts (mostly to prevent AI use). Is...

bionicjoey,

Copyright isn’t about who can look upon something so much as who can reproduce it. However, due to the way federation works, it has to be assumed that fediverse users are agreeing to allow anyone using the protocol to reproduce their “works”

bionicjoey,

Working on legacy systems is nice sometimes. So far removed from the techbro bullshit

bionicjoey,

Also hardly ever talked about anymore 😔

bionicjoey,

Maybe it goes the other way… The fact that there is a housing crisis is the direct result of unnecessary sex scenes in movies. If they didn’t put those scenes in, there would be less people clamouring to move out of their parents house, thus lowering the demand for housing.

bionicjoey,

If filmmakers adjust the amount of unnecessary sex scenes depending on how many people live with their parents, then it’s what ecologists would call a negative feedback loop.

AI and Robots Are Automating the IVF Process: Here's How It's Already Helped 11 Women Get Pregnant (www.ibtimes.co.uk)

Hopeful parents who continue to struggle with infertility have found an unlikely ally in Science and the advancements of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) as a laboratory in Guadalajara, Mexico harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence and robotics to help streamline the IVF process.

God damn it. Now all hope rests with Paralives

Edit: it sounds like they are actually delaying to ensure a more polished release. Given the massive scope of the game, this seems totally reasonable. I wish Paradox would push deadlines more often honestly, given the sorry state of their most recent titles on release day (CS2 and Vic3 in particular) Though I am still disappointed we won’t get LBY sooner.

bionicjoey,

OP said you retain your own intelligence, so I don’t see why a parrot would be any better than any animal with lips and vocal chords that could theoretically support humanlike speech.

bionicjoey,

There are techniques to insulate the codebase. For example, you can have one person read the actual leaked code, explain the data structures and algorithms at a high level to a developer, then have the developer implement that logic themselves based only on what they understood from the explanation. I believe this is known as clean-room reverse engineering.

Austerity has my roommate had her class of 12 kids moved into a windowless side room.

Hello! so my roommate is a SPED teacher. The school changed how SPED works to be identical to standard education at the expense of the 6th 7th and 8th graders that have mental disabilities. because of office politics and “Test Scores”, all SPED teachers got assigned a subject based on “who would make the best test...

bionicjoey,

These are so stupid and frankly I’m getting sick of seeing “articles” about it. There is clearly no relationship between the duration of clapping and the film. This shit sounds like something borne out of Stalinism where everyone knows the first person to stop clapping will be shot.

bionicjoey,

Freedom user here, my service got a lot better when Videotron took over Freedom from Shaw. Not saying Shaw did a bad job, but Freedom has always had a reputation among some for poor service coverage (which I’ve personally rarely seen anyway) and after the switch, it became even better.

bionicjoey,

Same here. They’ve been great. And they never shaft me with hidden fees. I pay the exact same thing every month while my dad needs to call Rogers a couple times a year, threaten to switch to Bell, and spend literally an entire day on the phone just to keep his prices from going up.

bionicjoey,

Cassette Beasts is relatively short. You can beat the story in a couple of days. 100% and the DLC take longer, but it’s an absolute pleasure all the way through. Highly recommend you move it to the top of the backlog.
