Poor #Wonderdog has not had a good evening - she ate her dinner (good, after not eating yesterday's) but I think she hadn't drunk enough today. She was panting, acting oddly, and when I checked, her nose was a bit dry - and worryingly, her gums were a bit pale. Managed to get her to drink, and to eat ice cubes (her favourite!) Okayyyy…. so, now I wish I hadn’t bought this convenience store sandwich. It’s roast beef on a pretzel roll that looked really tasty in the refrigerated case. However, the bottom was very soggy. But that’s not a big deal. I’ve had worse things.

And when I say I’ve had worse things, I’m still referring to this sandwich. I didn’t notice until I’d already bitten and started chewing that the inside is moldy. 🤢 At least I hadn’t swallowed that bite yet.

I'm over my temper tantrum.

Unfortunately I was enjoying a lovely break on the beach, logged into Mastodon and saw some ugly.

I have been promising myself to start moving away from commenting on what is happening in the moment and talk about more general legal issues. It invites less anger and hate.

Like everyone else, I'm relieved that it wasn't a hung jury or acquittal.

I have no doubt there will be an appeal because there are appealable issues.

But appealable does not mean winable.

On today's walk, we passed a truck parked across the entrance to our road with driver seemingly asleep. On our way back, the truck & man were still there & a neighbor was parked behind him on her phone. She was concerned, didn't want to approach on her own, so she called the police.
N and I walked over & tapped on his window. Turns out he's older, is struggling on his own w cancer, trying to get to the doctor & his truck wasn't cooperating.
Hoping the police hooked him up w medical transport.

I have been awake since 530. Because the workers renovating the crappy old light industrial building directly across the street arrived then.
