CentOS Stream 8 went end of life last week but CentOS 7 is still supported until the end of the month.

@ivan Nah, but I did migrate a number of CentOS Stream machines to #AlmaLinux recently. Alma8 is still supported and it's easy to migrate to, even from CentOS 7:

In case you were wondering, the fleet is handling the @almalinux 8.10 release like the fleet of champs that they are.

Not that I was worried, since AlmaLinux has been actively working on having the most overkill mirror community in the industry and always being way ahead of the curve on capacity.

Well that was fun! Turns out I needed to upgrade all 4 of my VMs to #AlmaLinux 9.4 which was just released today. Aside from a slight hiccup with nginx, everything went smoothly.

AlmaLinux 9 running docker is really a great way to deploy a lot of applications! And the AlmaLinux 9 desktop setup is clean and functional. @almalinux has gotten me excited about using Linux desktops and servers at home for the first time in a decade!

I love that the #AlmaLinux community is so genuinely amazing. The distro is solid, the org is a well oiled machine, and its members contribute upstream to Fedora, EPEL, etc., so that RHEL, Rocky, CentOS users, etc., can benefit from them, too.
