There is a switch problem causing delays on the F. Left 2 hours before i have to be on campus. But if i miss my lirr then i miss my shuttle & iโ€™ll be late even thiugh 2 hours is ridiculous for 15 miles

i can't remember the last names of almost any of the people I lived with in my first 2 years of graduate school and I find this very alarming.

I am middle aged, not old, but damn. i really can't make my brain conjure these words.

i lived with 4 people in a big house; they were all people I went to college with, though didn't know well before moving in. the 1 I knew well in college and that invited me to live in the house i still remember, but otherwise? gah. One was Karl. And all I can think of is Rove, Lagerfield, @karlsteel, and idk.

also, Karl was gone the 1st week i moved in because he was hiking the Appalachian trail. (Up until a minute ago, I could only think of the Oregon Trail, so that's a relief I guess.)

The house we lived in is for sale on zillow and nobody else can appreciate it but i have no idea how to contact them and it's obviously harder when you don't even know their names, lol. ๐Ÿฅด

to be clear i didn't live with Karl Rove or lagerfield. thank goodness. it was just an ordinary Karl who grew weed in the attic and came back from the trail smelling like something from another world (an awful, pungent, toxic world).

Also once he gave me and another roommate pizza with shrooms on it and forgot to tell us

cats fighting again. easy enough to break it up, but again i worry about what happens when we're not home.

Cleo acts like she's hungry all the time & most of the cranky fighting happens when we're about 30 minutes from mealtime. She starts meowing a lot, and it gives Cloud anxiety.

Cloud would love to play non-stop and only eat when there's nothing to play with. Cleo doesn't want to play with him, and I think that's when the fights happen; he goes over to her and they get in a swatty thing.

Cloud also does a lot of biting or biting attempts. In reality, it makes me very sad...but, to cope with that sadness, we have started making jokes about him, calling him different names. Which is best/funniest?

Between 2000 and 2022, i only had cats with no tail--two little stubby manx tuxedos, back to back. After a year of fosters and now permanent resident cats with tails, I'm still marveling at & learning about tails. They are intriguing novelties! I didn't know that they could be used to pet humans, for instance.

seriously if a company's demo involves "writing a letter to a retiring colleague" and you think that task is a) the important work at an institution of higher learning b) something you should outsource to a machine c) warrants paying a hefty subscription fee d) is impressive ... nobody should pay you a salary to work in higher education
