Can someone explain to me why for the love of God all the PC builders still insist we need an endless number of USB-A ports instead of C? Why wouldn't one flip the ratio here?
The fact that you search for a YouTube channel's name and the FIRST video result is NOT one from that channel, but a random unrelated recommendation is insane. It breaks the definition of "search"
Our first price for a laptop with the Snapdragon Elite X just leaked:
14" Galaxy Book Edge: 1800 EUR with 16+512GB.
The same laptop with Intel Core Ultra apparently starts at 1899 and a similar memory spec 13.6" MacBook Air goes for 1749 (though you have the option for lower specs).
A bit disappointed tbh. Galaxy Books always launch weirdly expensive & I guess this might include touch + OLED + pen, but Windows really needs to at least match prices IMO
Frage an mastodon server Betreiber.
Just opened Twitter for the first time in a long while to DM someone and the majority of my home feed is just stolen reuploaded videos & memes from these BS accounts I don't actually follow...
I use this browser extension called Unhook on YouTube when I need to get things done and it lets me block all recommended feeds while leaving subscriptions & search functional. It has really helped me not waste hours on rabbit holes when I don't want to
One of my biggest pet peaves is people at airport baggage pickup lines being incapable of standing behind the designated line. It's always only a few assholes first, then others join, cause I guess why not, and within a few minutes you can't see any of the bags unless you elbow people out of the way. A perfect small-scale demonstration of the tragedy of the commons
Since I'm too lazy to Google, is Apple insanely petty for intentionally not giving Android devices native support via USB to just show up as any other device, or is Google insanely incompetent? It's bad enough that you have need the dedicated "Android File Transfer" app to just see the files on your phone, but this pile of junk also doesn't work half the time. So infuriating
@Techaltar Used to fall for the same ^%#}€ then I started doing the following: Decline EVERY sales pitch they offer by calling me, instead I will call them and ask for something whenever I feel necessary.
Plus, I enabled TrueCaller spam filtering + many other govt. block lists (this is a thing in Brazil and yes, it works surprisingly well). The result: NOBODY calls me for anything! Sounds very lonely but haven’t fell for this *%#{} for years now.
Huh, I almost fell for what I assume is a phishing SMS. I do indeed have an O2 contract expiring on 20.01.2024 and O2 often spams me with SMS messages from random numbers.
But here the link is fishy! Instead of o2online.de which is their actual domain, the domain here is de-simverwalten.digital and the line braking just hides this. Clever little bastards! I wonder how they know when my cancellation date is...
I can tell that Elon has definitely solved Twitter's bot problems (the literal thing he said he would buy Twitter for) because ever since I have stopped posting there all the interactions I get are definitely-not-a-bot hot ladies like spamming my posts from 2022 about Office subscriptions 😂
So many of the new Windows laptops have MicroSD slots and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Full Size SD? I get it and I want it! Anyone with a large camera will probably want that. But who still uses MicroSD these days? Barely any phones have MicroSD slots anymore. What am I missing?
@Techaltar Talking me, for example: two years ago, I wanted a laptop computer with a big screen, fast CPU but not the fastest, I/O ports for all kinds of situations (new/legacy stuff), parts repairability+upgradability and able to install whatever OS I want.
