Apropos of nothing whatsoever daylight savings can die in a fire, and also that all records should be in UTC to save confusion caused by daylight savings having not yet died in a fire
Tsk. The way this is going, we’re about to find out that a man who owns 7 houses is going to introduce massive retroactive tax cuts for landlords or something. #nzpol

Then he came back to Aotearoa and voted to resume exploration and extraction of fossil fuels, per his party's policy.
Prime Minister, Minister,
I would like to draw your attention to section 15.A. of the National-Act and National-NZ First agreements as published last Friday, 24th November 2023. It reads:
A. Principled – making decisions based on sound public policy principles, including problem
definition, rigorous cost benefit analysis and economic efficiency.

Power outage last night mitigated by the power of V2L. Got home at about 90%, plugged in fridge, freezer, water pump and router (plus a couple of phone chargers). By the next morning we were down to about 82%. So we can definitely run the essentials off the car for a couple of days and still leave enough battery to get to somewhere we can recharge it. (Would only need about 10% remaining to get to a charger in an area that is typically back on well before we are).
