I'm going to ask that people spread this, and support Nanook. When we talk about people who care about community, and are more than just talk, Nanook does so much to help out the Toronto community. They're active in the Indigenous community. He always makes sure to be out at actions supporting and promoting people who are underrepresented in both the Toronto community and remote communities.

On Academics in PWIs.

At some level you prioritize your relationship with your racist institutions who will readily call police on your own students for non-violent demonstration.

If you aren't vocally opposing the actions of your institutions, you are choosing to be part of the problem.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

People who work at PWIs.

If your students are afraid of speaking out against Genocide because of potential retaliation, and you choose to remain silent, you are making a choice to be part of the problem.

Sometimes failing a vibe check is just you emitting "reason Black folks leave STEM/Academia"-energy.

Visualize a room.

What we see are the Black folks leaving the room as you enter.

What you see are the few Black folks who don't move away.

What you don't see is the change in behaviour of some of those who choose to stay.

Black folks: "ACAB, I don't talk to cops."

Indigenous folks: "ACAB, I don't talk to cops."

Latinx folks: "ACAB, I don't talk to cops."

Most other folks: "If I just explain to these officers what this awful white person did to us..."

Please get on the same page with the rest of us... They are literally here to criminalize you.

I've come to the realization that a bunch of people alive today would have been perfectly OK with the Holocaust had they been explained that the people in death camps were "dangerous judeobolsheviks". Or at least that's my impression after seeing how the most hideous crimes, including murder, torture, kidnappings and infanticide are OK if you say the magic words: they were Hamas.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

@argumento

People are the same. As long as you code your language, the masses don't mind who is being incarcerated and massacred.

So I said in the past, it's not the Nazis I'm most concerned with when it comes to the Fediverse. Nazis are generally accepted as bad, and people will defederate with their instances and block them.

It's where whiteness sets their bars for what is OK to be on here that worries me. As long as someone doesn't have their Klan robes on, they're given the benefit of the doubt.

There's a genocide happening. Fucking excise genocide apologists from your fucking communities.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

It's Black History Month.

You're learning about the shit your ancestors did to ours. You're learning about what is happening to us right now. People are doing the same type of dehumanizing shit to Palestinians right fucking now.

You're unbothered by it.

Don't you dare tell me, you're not your ancestors.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children's_Crusade_(1963)

If this was 1963, you'd be unbothered by the violence against children during the Children's Crusade in Birmingham, Alabama.

It was on TV too.

I know you'd be doing nothing.

Worse than that, you'd gladly maintain your relationships with others who were unbothered or even thought the police's response was justified.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

You hear about shit like The Kissing Case 1959:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kissing_Case

"How could that happen?"

It wasn't a one-off thing. That's just an instance that got attention. This shit is rampant in your history.

And you are still fucking doing it today.

How many Black children are exposed to police violence today?

And you are unbothered.

So of course you're going to be unbothered when the victims are Palestinians.

I have zero expectations of you when it comes to adults, and the elderly.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

Wait until you leave American history, and look at the rest of the Colonized Americas. And all the shit you don't know about. But would be unbothered if you did.

After all, you got to enjoy an abundance of affordable products through the enslavement of our ancestors, whether in Europe, or the Americas.

When we got massacred, and when we get massacred, you're ok with it. So of course you're not going to care about Palestinians.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

People ask for rights, this is your history of action:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharpeville_massacre

Your behavioural pattern as a group of "Superior Beings". So "civil" you are.

You all do the same shit everywhere you go.

So of course, you're unbothered when the same types of shit are done to Palestinians.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

To you, this shit is OK because it's in the name of Colonialism.

Colonialism is always justifiable to you.

Zionism is Colonialism.

It's violence is Colonialism.

It's entitlement is Colonialism.

Fuck Colonialism.

And if you are unbothered by Colonialism, Fuck you too.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

Those of you in the US have an election this year where you get to elect the leaders of your Terrorist Regime.

Canada elects it's new Terrorist leaders in 2025.

These Terrorist Regimes will continue to support the Israeli Terrorist Regime. And you'll continue to be unbothered.

Why?

These terrorist entities posing as "civilized" countries are all spawned from European Colonialism.

But it only counts as terrorism when it's not the oppressor doing it.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

You understand why most people descended from slavery don't know which tribes we are descended from without a DNA test?

What you did to our languages? Our histories? Did you outlaw our cultural practices?

You realize that you resorted to mass murder when we inconvenienced you?

When we asked for our freedom?

So you act like we don't understand what's going on when we look at what is being done to Palestinians.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

But again, you'll support what Israel is doing. You'll send weapons and be unbothered. You'll send money and be unbothered. You'll support Israel and be unbothered.

White people are violent people, who only know how to speak to non-white people using violence.

That is an acceptable form of communication for you as long as it's being done to people you can't picture looking like you.

May your Empires crumble you racist fucks.

@DavidBruchmann

Palestinians have already done the ground work necessary with Black Americans to lay the groundwork. We are seeing the fruits of that today with Solidarity from Black leftists groups.

They had invited Black folks to come to Palestine and see what they are going through years ago. They have maintained Solidarity throughout the decades.

Black Americans are not the problem.

Every group has their bootlickers.

Their Liberation movements support Palestine.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

@DavidBruchmann

This is a continuation of white people supporting Colonial nonsense because it legitimizes their histories of committing atrocities.

Even amongst staunch Black American Christians, they call out their own community members:

https://www.tiktok.com/@thecharliexpression/video/7325984092225309982

We got Black Christians on here who call out their fellow Christians for not drawing the line at Genocide.

MightySisserou,
@MightySisserou@blacktwitter.io avatar

@DavidBruchmann

Our Black spaces have also been focusing on Palestine. And again, mainly lead by Black Americans and members of Black American orgs who recognize what it means to live in the Imperial Core.

Where their governments are one of the largest contributors to this Genocide.

It's up to white people to stop slacking, and use their privilege, and numbers to oppose their governments and opposing white people who are supporting these governments.

For the people in the back. If you are organizing, and using whatsapp or whatever else. What that shows the rest of us is that you're not serious about the safety of your community members.

Use Signal. It's easy enough for people to install and use. There are reasons everyone else uses it.

I'm going to ask this here. Maybe it will give others places and peoples to look into this month who often go overlooked:

Where are your deficits in knowledge/awareness of Black History and Black Movements where you live and abroad?

Anyone can reply.

If someone answers with something you feel you have some resources to get them started, feel free to reply as well.

I want you to during #BlackHistoryMonth and going forward to think of people's accomplishments, particularly among leaders as collective.

Accomplishments are often framed in Capitalist Individualism to erase the communal efforts that made them possible.

Movements are made of people.

‘A similar process has attempted to disassociate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from the vast numbers of women and men who constituted the very heart of the mid-twentieth-century US freedom movement. It is essential to resist the depiction of history as the work of heroic individuals in order for people today to recognize their potential agency as a part of an ever-expanding community of struggle.’
