Hey #actuallyautistic folks. What do you do for meltdowns with strong emotional and moral components, not just sensory?

I am hesitant to ask because mental health, trauma, and social and emotional dynamics are deep special interests of mine so I know a ton already, and I'm sensitive to being 'splained or talked down to right now.

But I also have some faith that the #neurodivergent community could give me some clear, practical tips and suggestions and I'm tired and alone.

Yeah? Thoughts?

Autism facts I did not know:

• The first person to ever be diagnosed autistic died last year.

• Autism and ADHD were considered fully mutually exclusive, in the DSM-5, until 2013, and comorbidity rare for a while after.

• Research shows ~50-80% of Autistic folks show ADHD traits, and ~30-40% of ADHD folks show Autistic traits.

• The Monotropism questionnaire, which blows previous unified research and theories away, came out last summer.

Saturday night musing about how a Hot Girl™️ mask was the perfect unconscious cover and crutch for my AuDHD throughout my teens, 20s, and is still so much of my internal structure today.

I read an insane amount as a kid. So much sci-fi/fantasy. I dreamed of being able to wear and do what my favorite characters did.

This set me up to special interest in costuming for the rest of my life. That hit when I was very young. I started making wearable feathered wings when I was 13, alone in my room.

Quite happy with this little make.

I've been seeing earplug earrings in the "cool/weird earrings" and EDM scenes, but I hadn't seen a detachable version. Since I make and wear different earrings constantly, and I have specifically nice earplugs, I made my own with some cute anodized findings I had. Works a treat.

No I don't sell jewelry online. I sell lasercutting files and consign locally in Portland, Oregon, USA. If there's interest I might write up a tutorial tho.

I think my non-technical background does give me an edge here, as it often does. My first instinct is never multimeter. A lot of my (hubris-filled electronics-'splaining guy) friends get tripped up going there first with any electronics.

Y'know what, despite it all and no one giving a shit

I've taken my vitamins and brushed my teeth and flossed for years and years and years in the best way I possibly can.

Which is wild for neurodivergence, and all I get from providers, at best, is a routine exhausting demand of what my routine is, and an "ok", or, regularly, "make sure you floss" or "do you take vitamin D".

I've talked to an enormous amount of, usually, cis white dudes (+ some queer folk) who got introduced to computers very early in life, got the ticket to "yes I can do that/fix that/figure that out" land early, who worked a corporate tech job or two, and now fucking hate computers and tech and are misanthropic artists or farmers or whatever

I also know a ton of women/BIPOC/queers who would kill to have the stability of a tech job and to not be infantalized and assumed helpless

To me, understanding stuff and feeling like you understand stuff are separate things.

I have learned stuff at about the same pace my entire life, understood stuff in what feels like a steady, gentle curve that only mildly accelerates with experience.

But I did a 180 turn on feeling like I understand things a few years back.

The difference that has made is incalculable.

And my anger at folks who can't see this difference, who don't understand learned helplessness, is immeasurable.

I figured out a public viewer for my resume (canva).

I have a wide breadth of skill and experience (really though). I am mainly a technical Project Manager. I need a healthy-ish, chill environment. Remote or at least flexible.

I'm experienced and able, I'm just also going through a real hard time fighting burnout and am struggling with personal loss and grief while job hunting in gestures at tech this.

I need to be believed in.

Hey! I feel silly asking this but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Where can I simply and aesthetically upload my resume online, and generate a link, so anyone can see it? Like, say I want to make a QR code that just pops it open on a phone.

Linkedin doesn't allow a diy resume (not really) anymore, Glassdoor stopped, and I'm wrestling with my own react website rn and can't do it that way.

My next thought is a google doc, honestly.
