Hopefully Danielle Smith won't opt us out of this one!

"My mother got her Canadian Dental coverage card. It's really real. Our national dental care plan is actually happening. Seniors first and then other age groups added after that. (Actual good news.)"

#abpoli #cdnpoli

JustAnotherJay,

@ned Are you sure? Nothing on the GoC website indicating Albertans are excluded: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/dental/dental-care-plan/qualify.html.

I do know Alberta said they were opting out of the Pharmacare one, which I believe is separate from the CDCP. I could be wrong though 🤷‍♂️

JustAnotherJay,

@ned 👍

Still... f*ck the UCP and their policies ugggh.

Looking to buy another external drive 1TB or 2TB.

I have to keep a permanent records of the materials/images used to create my novels and low content books for legal purposes.

Recommendations would be appreciated.

#externaldrive #tech

JustAnotherJay,

@60pencilgirl @gamergull SSDs are way better than HDDs. Smaller, lighter, faster, newer tech, and as you mentioned, typically avoid damage when dropped.

JustAnotherJay,

@60pencilgirl @gamergull the thing with any drive, HDD or SSD, is they do wear over time depending on the rated MTBF (hours before failing) and TBW (terrabytes written). Of course, other things can factor in as well. But yes, an HDD is definitely more susceptible to internal damage from drops or banging around.

JustAnotherJay,

@sysop408 @60pencilgirl @gamergull I've yet to have an SSD fail as well... have also replaced 4 HDDs in my nas over the past 10 years.

Living in #Ottawa I'm looking forward to seeing what the court's decision will be in the case of the FreedomConvoy organizers. I live downtown. I know what's it like to be disturbed continuously at all hours. As much as it look like a big ol'illegal street party, a lot of it was fueled with hate, bigotry etc. Ultimately, it should be a guilty verdict with some jail time to reflect that you can't just do whatever you want when you want. You live in a society with rules. Do the crime, do the time.

JustAnotherJay,

@stephanie @MartinGuay that bitter feeling seeing a Canadian flag/sticker on a vehicle now is the worst...

Android devices now have the ability to detect if a rogue AirTag is tracking your location. Check out these four easy steps on how to enable it!

@ned not to mention the $50 credit every month on electricity bills... am sure the electricity companies aren't out that in the least. @Jeffrey_Smith

Walt Nauta took cell phone photographs of Secret/Five Eyes classified documents spilling on the floor, and texted them to someone else! (Yes, I’m reading the indictment.)

JustAnotherJay,

@JamesGleick juicy read!

This will be my last post on the results of the election. We need to be honest with ourselves. Rural Alberta voters will never learn. They'll keep voting against progress because they are filled with nothing but hate and fear. How can one find common ground with people who don’t value their fellow humans?

So from the bottom of my heart: fuck you, Rural Alberta. I hope you choke on the fruits of what you've wrought upon us.
#abpoli #abvotes

JustAnotherJay,

@jace well I mean a good chunk of rural Alberta burned due to the UCP killing off the elite wildfire unit and reducing funding for wildfire prevention/fighting... and they still voted UCP.

#ableg #abpoli #abelxn #ABElection2023

JustAnotherJay,

@shrmanator @jace I wonder how many people in those close Calgary ridings are kicking themselves for not voting this morning...

#abpoli #ableg #abelxn

JustAnotherJay, to random

So... UCP disbands the elite AB Wildfire fighting team and budget for firefighting, yet over 60,000 Albertans living in the affected ridings (many of who had to evacuate for at least a week) still voted UCP?

Democracy is democracy, and we must respect the will of the people. However, as a Canadian, I am very concerned that MAGA-style performances result in a big win in Alberta (49 for Soth, 38 for Notley) because this will empower Poilievre to go even more MAGA, as well as making federal-provincial relations much harder with a nut premier who thinks she can strike free travel/trade between her province and red states.
There need to be a return to serious governance, not entertaining performance.

JustAnotherJay,

@jfmezei got a link to 62.38% turnout? Everything I'm reading says less than 50% of eligible voters voted.

JustAnotherJay,

@jfmezei thanks! dunno why I couldn't find it earlier lol

Going to head into election night like a pro - with a fantastic book in one hand and a glass (okay, let's be honest, a bottle) of wine in the other.

Don't look for me on social media tonight, folks. I'll be hiding away from my anxiety in the tub - a magical place where DS and the UCP don't exist and the wine is always flowing.

For those who voted, thank you. Let's hope I don't need to start house hunting in another province tomorrow. 🤞

JustAnotherJay,

@jace I hear you, starting to get a stomach ache already ugggh... probably be breaking out the Glenfiddich tonight - feel like I'm going to need something stronger than beer tonight!

Going out to vote this morning and decided I deserve a little treat. #goodmorning

JustAnotherJay,

@jace Second Cup still exists? 🤣😂

JustAnotherJay,

@jace they closed the one out here, there's one I know of in Edmonton but I don't get out that way much, or to much of it - just two places mostly.

Can Snapchat please just kill MyAI already. Absolutely useless and pinned to the top of the chat list.

JustAnotherJay,

@steve apaprently you can get rid of it, dunno how though but both my kids said they did after jumping through 1000 hoops.

JustAnotherJay,

@steve will see if I can't get them to tell me.

JustAnotherJay,

@steve so apparently the main settings > clear conversation > hit the x by myAi. Gets rid of myAI from your screen but doesn't delete it completely. Apparently, it doesn't work on all phones either though so ymmv.

JustAnotherJay,

@steve that's a bummer!
