Bold move. There’s not anything on there worth me disabling my adblocks, cookie blockers, etc that I wont see in clips in youtube before they pull the same stuff

Do you still write notes with pen and paper?

With so much note taking apps nowadays, I can’t understand why does anyone still write notes with pen and paper. You need to bring the notepad, book or that paper to retrieve that information, and most of the time you don’t have it in hand. While my phone almost always reachable and you carry when you go out. For those still...

Hell yeah i do, i’ve been keeping a notebook for scheduling and journaling for the last 5 years and it helps my thought process so much.

The biggest thing for me, i dont control the apps, so if an update breaks my apps, i’d be out of luck, but that cant happen with a notebook. My notes will always been as i wrote them.

I’ve even gone through writing with gel pens, to fountain pens, and now i just use pencils cause it’s just better over all.

I could get philosophical about it too. I remember what i write, my mind paces itself better as i commit to paper vs typing on a keyboard or screen. We have that primordial need to scribble on something, and i get to indulge it when i write:

  • coffee
  • milk
  • rice (big bag)

Everyone should try it, with a simple caveat: keep it cheap. Write in cheap books with cheap pens and paper, then buy better as the cheap shit starts to fail on you. Some paper is really bad for ink, some are bad for pencil, somehow there’s some that worse for both. Some pencils have terrible erasers, but dont dwell on those choices.

I spent the money on the Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks after trying to make moleskines work. I do not regret it, nor the work that brought me there.

I’m left handed so spiral bound is out for the most part

They used to be so good. I think the Sanford people bought them. Cant say how it affected quality tho as I’ve moved to metal barreled mechanical pencils and am in love with the Pentel Kura Toga rn

We do post quite a lot, but from what I’ve seen of my experience after federation, it exposes the thread to more people. Active Sort has been very sticky with certain threads since we keep bringing them up.

That lead in is an incredibly disingenuous and dangerous thing to claim.

Also, it’s easier to completely demolish the building. Accommodations can be made much easier, but no one does it because it’s too much work, the disabled people of the metaphor are figuring out ways around it.

Also the anti-disabled people knickknacks are still displayed EVERYWHERE desolate

Grownbravy,

to continue this incredibly labored metaphor, yeah things are kinda nice for everyone when there are accommodations for disabled, or mobility compromised people. There’s a term for when accommodations for one group, like sidewalk curb cut-outs, actually have a multiplicative benefit for everyone, even outside of the principle group. Curb cut-outs on sidewalks make it easier for wheelchair users, and the blind, but also they benefit strollers, old people, and delivery people getting up the curb.

so making the house nice for disable people actually makes it nice for everyone.

to drop the metaphor, yeah getting rid of systemic racism is actually nice for everyone

Werent a bunch of reddit brigaders obliterated forgetting to turn off location services posting from their top secret training facility?

What's the deal with Hexbear?

Has anyone else noticed how prevalent Hexbear posters have suddenly become? Maybe sometime last week I noticed nearly every political post had at least one long thread of Hexbear users that do nothing but repeat CCP talking points while waving anyway anything even remotely reliable as Western propaganda. That or getting all...

What troubles?

Can you describe the troubles?

Are the troubles in the room with us?

What made you choose your instance?

Following the spirit of spreading across the Fediverse (and because my main instance is down so many times, because diverse reasons) I’m intrigued about the joining instance process, because I honestly don’t know what criteria to have in order to join another one if I ever want to do it....

I’ve been on Hexbear the entire time. It’s inclusive, yet has zero tolerance for reactionary attitudes.

Also since federation we actually have been complaining the quality of posts we see have gone down. You all lack an energy that made r/cth and hexbear such a breath of fresh air.

I think one thing that stands us out among other spaces on the internet is rejection of common referential humor, this space almost demands you develop your own thing, and enjoy our beautifully curated collection of emotes left-unity-4 Also our moderation is pretty top notch, and you get a sense it’s okay to fail here. It gives you a fearlessness. Like, we dont make small dick jokes here about people we dont like because we dont want to hurt anyone who does have a small dick in the community, also because it reinforces bs masculinity tropes. So this means we have to approach from new angles and this limitation fosters a creativity in us. And I think you can have this too, with enough time.

We dont all like lazy humor or really cheap shots, and cherish bits and running jokes with each other. Have you seen our owl? It’s very dirty.
