Help wanted, asking for a friend.

Say you have a flexible freelance business, like a hairdresser making house calls. You want to work a certain amount of hours a week but you'd like for your calls to be bunched up so that you end up making, say, 3 calls on a Tuesday morning and 4 on Thursday afternoon/evening, rather than 7 calls scattered throughout the week.

You want your clients to be able to select their own slots and book online.

Anyone aware of a calendaring solution that will do this?

My goal for the Far North Queensland trip will be to visit Daintree, and the start of the CREB track. I won't actually be traveling it - I think it's closed anyway - but it'll make for a nice photo.

This should be a round trip of 2,000+ km total - my longest motorcycle trip yet.

Can't wait!

Holy shit #kdenlive has gotten good!

I got to use it today on a work project, making a video for all the vertical video platforms. The multiple sequences is an absolute game changer.

That plus all the other tools like color clips, gradients, transforms & crops, keyframing, corner tool and so on meant I didn't need to turn to Resolve, let alone (horror) Adobe for a relatively complex project.

This is getting closer and closer to replacing proprietary for everything I need.

I am a member of Fosstodon and have been pretty happy with the server and it's volunteer moderators/administrators.

Anyone interested in the #Fosstodon English Only policy discussion, please make sure that you have read this:

It may not change your opinion, but it will hopefully answer many of the most obvious questions that I'm seeing today.

To my knowledge there was no significant opposition to this very public policy on a very large server a week ago.

If folks have conerns now. Let's discuss the issue, but I would encourage folks to avoid the name calling and insults.

The #Fediverse will never survive if blocking servers becomes the default every time some drama happens.

If there have been moderation mistakes, they can be fixed. The volunteer administrators need time to process this controversy and change will not happen overnight, nor should it.

For now, I'll hang tight and see how the discussion goes.

I got an email warning from this server - after posting in Irish a number of times over the lifetime of my account here and other folks telling me that it is welcome - that my posts in Irish are NOT welcome on Fosstodon.

Irish is a minority language not heard often, it is extremely important to me, and so this decision means this server is not a place for me. Sadly, despite my long career in FOSS.

I might abandon this account and use mastodon.ie. TBD

@mairin, the Fosstodon team has a well-documented reason for the English-only rule and it has nothing to do with identity politics or colonialism or whatever people in this discussion conflate it to be. It is not fair to expect the admins of an instance to change a rule that they’ve clearly thought about for reasons that have nothing to do with their reasoning. It is fair to provide feedback but the expectation that they should be accepted isn’t. @kev

Ugh I have a very intense work deadline today and I kept on waiting for the 'right moment' and 'nooo I first have to do xyz before I start otherwise it won't work' knowing full well I just need to force myself to do SOMETHING and after 8 hrs of staring at my laptop like a hypnotized potato and googling spanish villas I'll now have to work until the early morning to get this stuff done.

Anyone else suffer from dumb brain syndrome?
