The video you see here is a screen recording of a voicemail I got from volunteers from a local church in Aug 2016 when I was struggling to find a job, we used all of my mom's retirement (because my dad stole what she earned when he was with us)
BY THE WAY #211 still tells people to call this "charity" for help to save them from homelessness, when I called in December 2023,
I reached out after my therapist #abused and fired me leaving me in the financial and mental #crisis I am in now
The people who answered treated me like I was a crook saying they had no such funds, even though it was listed on their #website and told me to call 211 to get help
#nuejs looks way too ambitious to be taken seriously. I might be absolutely wrong tho. Also why does the creator keeps calling it "Perfect web framework" ? There is no such thing as "perfect" and you shouldn't resort to such "marketing" gimmick when you called out #tailwind for misleading marketing (still hate tailwind anyway)
On another front, I am now in the process of setting up our new #thai#company together with my wife. The #lawyer is already at work. 🥰️
The name is set, the #logo and a minimal #corporate design are made (I used an #opensource font and did all the work in #inkscape), the #domain is bought and set up, the #website is in the works (with #grav) and our thai #friends are on board as shareholders as well. 😃️
Unfortunately I can't share the details yet, but I'm still really excited. 🥳️
Is needed: 500 g of flour 200 g of margarine 100 ml of sour cream 1 lemon 2 eggs 200 g of sugar 1 vanilla sugar 150 g of apricot jam Preparation: Add eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, sour cream and margarine to a bowl with flour. Then in another bowl we grate a lemon peel.
Maybe there's a #css#nerd among my friends who can answer the following question?
I use one specific #font for the #latin#character (s) on my #website and another for #thaiscript. The latter is specified via unicode-range: U+0E0x, U+0E1x, U+0E2x, U+0E3x, U+0E4x, U+0E5x, U+0E6x, U+0E7x; in my CSS.
However, the #thai characters look very small compared to the Latin characters.
Is there a way in which I could specify that all Thai characters throughout the site should be font-size: 140%;?
$2363 left to save Mom and I and my #Bunny from eviction
It's hard to stay present with my #EmotionalSupportBunny and Mom these days seeing them have no idea of the threat to our joy and warmth hurts me deeply
Mom always asks why I am sad
Clinging to hope

KI-gestützte Phishing-Angriffe verändern die Landschaft der Cyber-Sicherheit radikal. Erfahren Sie hier, wie Sie den Betrügern trotzdem einen Schritt voraus bleiben. 🔗 https://bit.ly/3UTsTRC
Something that's blowing my mind a lot right now is that I, a 50-something amateur coder who built a #website using okish-practice in 2005, and now has neither the skills nor the time to upgrade it, has in the space of two years gone from feeling bad about it not being responsive design etc, to feeling good that quite a bit of it (90% server side processing, very little #javascript, #RSS feeds present and correct) is in fact ahead of many supposedly best-in-class 2024 websites.
Fast Internet is not really available these days. Not because of the connection, but because of the excessive data flow and JavaScript application on the pages. In my opinion, this is often too much of a good thing.
As an "independent source" it was used by politicians, students, and many everyday people alike.
It was used for #publications & #documentaries, and triggered some inquires where I assisted in shaping national & international political statements. It's been fun & fulfilling 🙂
In today's siloed internet its usefulness is gone. No more days with 5.000 unique visitors & multiple email inquires.
Did you ever wonder who GitHub repositories add these small badges on the top, showing stars, downloads and the latest release? I looked around the internet a bit, and I think here they all come from: https://shields.io/
So my #website has two main sections: #articles & #blog posts. Articles on technical stuff for general audiences, while blog posts are about stuff that happened in my life and are more written to be read by people who know me.
(Also some creative #writing but this isnt about her)
But stuff I want to write doesn't always fit into either category... Sometimes I want to write something weird and whimsical, something about my day, or just a couple sentences about something that's been on my mind. I watch weird films sometimes and it'd be cool to put reviews on my site. Etc
I'm inspired by Ken Perlin's blog (guy who invented Perlin noise). He writes a couple paragraphs pretty much every single day, just about whatever. http://blog.kenperlin.com/
Anyway, I'm just wondering if there's a better way to organize my site. Maybe I should add a third #journal category for random semi-regular posts, or maybe I should put everything in one pile like Ken Perlin, or maybe something else? Idk
