This looks quite interesting, although I find it disconcerting that the documentation is in docx files instead of Markdown or PDF. Annoying on the other hand is that the server component requires Java/Tomcat.
Has anyone tested the captcha with #TYPO3 already? I'll take a closer look at the #SaaS version when I get a chance.
I wanted so much to fill out the "State of #HTML Survey 2023" and the #javascript#SaaS#SPA they're using to host the survey app showed me a loading spinner for over an hour after signing in and that basically says it all, doesn't it?
Slacks redesign is a complete disaster. I'm not sure who they think this is for, but it's not me or anyone I know. What real world problem were they trying to solve? So many basic UI screw ups I wonder if they tested this at all.
"The greatest danger possibly lies in the ubiquity of software-as-a-service (#SaaS) – exploitation of one zero-day #vulnerability can impact millions of digitized assets connected to the internet." https://bfx.social/3r6wqzl
The Slack redesign breaks the most useful feature. In the old design, I can see at a glance which Slack teams have unread messages for me. In the new design, I can see that there are unread messages but I have to click to examine which teams those messages are on.

3/7 It’s not long before they start eating anything that comes their way just to beat this sick feeling at the pit of a stomach.
Side projects, little opportunities to make some money on the side, new feature that your customers want to see, a dark theme, or a mobile app. That’s how it always starts.
4/7 The biggest mistake I saw startups make was trying to please everyone.
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen small teams and products initially aimed at a certain audience getting transformed into humongous, rigid structures. Simply because founders lost their focus.
5/7 There were so many times I’ve heard these words: “We need to get attention of everyone on our product. Our product should be universal. Our goal is to corner the market and beat those big guys!”
Really? I believe your plan was to create a better user experience for a certain segment of the market, rather than corner it.
But appetite comes with eating. This rising appetite blinds people and makes them lose the way.
I've finally put together my full love story with @SparkToro, the content I've made about them, and all of my shoutouts about their software and their team. 💜 💛 💙
If you're wondered why I like this software so much... this is your answer.
This post is the culmination of 9 months of engagement, hard work, and sincere passion. I hope you enjoy.
A student can't afford to pay the $8 per month for #Obsidian sync, so builds a #FOSS alternative. Then posts to HN and says "I probably violate ToS, so will take down the repo if asked".
Then the Obsidian CEO replies. Explains they aren't VC-funded and the $8 bucks subscription keeps the light on. Applauds the work of the student, points to other open ways that content sync can be handled and gives advice "if you rename, there's no ToS problem". 👍
