Excellent food and very good atmosphere. The latter probably the result of real plants all over walls and covering the ceiling. Based in the heart of Luxembourg City, so you cannot miss it. - https://vero.co/seb_tmg/w-cDgpSHCpKgDnWs4PW9vgNQ
Restaurants Create a Mound of Plastic Waste. Some Are Working to Fix That.
A small but growing number of restaurants are moving away from single-use plastic take-out containers, which usually end up in the trash because they can’t be recycled. #ClimateChange#Food#Restaurant
At Moti Cafe in River North. We often go here after Church on Sunday for Chai and snacks. It is the only place you can get a good authentic chai in Downtown Chicago.
When I took this photo back in 2016, it was a combination coffee/Chinese food restaurant: they sold coffee in the mornings and Chinese food for lunch and dinner. The owner had previously run a separate coffee shop (The Bean Counter, IIRC) in the same shopping center, then combined the two businesses to save on rent. It was one of our go-to Chinese takeout sources, and I’d sometimes grab coffee in the mornings if I was in the area or on my way somewhere in that direction.
The old coffee location sat vacant for a few years until a bakery (with coffee on the side) moved in. Amusingly, the bakery — with is still there today — also chose a pun-based name: Redondough (as in Redondo Beach).
In early 2020 — and I mean early, either January or February — they were offered a really nice buyout price by someone who wanted to turn-key convert it overnight to a Hawaiian restaurant. I imagine when mid-March rolled around and the initial Covid lockdown started, they were extremely relieved to have accepted it!
I never did get around to trying the Hawaiian place, even for takeout. Eventually it was taken over by a Hawaiian-style fast food chain.
Photo taken February 27, 2016 and originally posted on my Instagram account a few days later with this title, but no commentary.
Quite honestly why isn't it alteady standard, that a separate vegetarian and vegan card exist?
I'm not talking about a section in the menu but a completely separated printed menu only for vegetarians and vegans. The first thing which would become apparant is "oh no we need more offerings this is only salad and bread" but of course if you as a restaurant fail to see it the customer can also be like "oh no it's so short I will go again".
For online menus it's trivial but I mean about the physical

I'm not even vegan/vegetarian myself I just like to eat vegan/vegetarian.
If all your courses require meat then I pity your underdeveloped culinary taste.
Also, quick FAQ:
Q: this could be expensive
A: yeah it's true. Providing service requires providing service. Or in the absence of providing said service: yeah it sucks to suck. Nobody forces you to accommodate customers. You might be inclined to do so when your whole business is... accommodating customers.
We went out for shopping on #Saturday. Met up with a friend and went to Thaliva Indian Kitchen in Park Ridge. It is a place we have been wanting to go to for a while after someone told us it some of the best South Indian in #Chicagoland. We got dosas and finished the day with a South Indian Filter Coffee. Worth a trip out on the Metra!
Japan is experiencing a huge influx of tourists. As a result, some stores and restaurants are struggling with how to handle customers who don’t speak Japanese. Learn why one restaurant owner took out his frustration on social media – and had to close his store shortly after.
Can Music Make Your Food Taste Better? Spice up your meals with some sonic seasoning. by Andrew Coletti May 20, 2024
"...Sweet and sour were matched with high pitches, bitter and umami with low pitches. Brass instruments sounded bitter, while piano sounded sweet. In a follow-up study, subjects who sampled toffee while listening to custom tracks designed to enhance specific tastes reported an increase in the targeted flavors.
Sonic seasoning is still not well-understood, but some researchers connect it with synesthesia, a perceptual phenomenon where one sense activates another..."

Went to lunch with my bosses to a restaurant nearby the office. Scanned the QR code to see the menu (ugh). Noticed that the chef is apparently having a good time naming his menu items.
