I recently spoke with @Edent on Volunteer Technologist about memorial benches, @openstreetmap, and the #Fediverse. Here's a clip talking about the amazing number of benches that have been cataloged, and you can find the entire episode Apple & Spotify now and in #Podcasting 2.0 apps later today (I just changed #podcast hosts and some things are still updating)

1/2 In a #podcasting masterclass I learnt: ask your target audience when they listen to #podcasts, there are good and bad times. Have the courage to change them. I found: the end of the month IS bad for #NatureMatchCuts (the new episode won't come today). Now surveys!
When do you like to listen to a MONTHLY #podcast?
Feel free to comment and explain your choice (or a different idea) and to #boost it for a better result!
Greetings! I'm Evo, no longer on my own single-instance server, which seemed like a good idea but, franky... I can't be bothered. That, and I'm already paying to run Podvibes, so...
Here's my latest #introduction which tells you want to expect from following me here on the Fediverse, in a handy🧵:
• #AudioFiction - I exclusively listen to fiction podcasts, so you'll hear me shouting about those I love.
• #Podcasting - Even though I retired from podcast punditry in 2022, I still have thoughts on we podcasters can make podcasting better. While I try to channel them towards #FictionPodcast creators, there's some over spill.
Not that you should send this to clients when they ask, "how many people listen to my podcast," but still an excellent article on the complexities of podcast measurement from @benjaminbellamy :
#JRE is a real #podcast again. Looks like all the old episodes are available too. So what is #Spotify paying #JoeRogan for now? Maybe he'll get back to hosting lefties sometimes. #podcasting
Today's the perfect day for a fun new podcast! Our latest episode features an author spotlight of AdamHulse, books by him, Sarah Jane Huntington, and Stephen King, plus so much more!
“But here's the thing: being able to say, "wherever you get your podcasts" is a radical statement. Because what it represents is the triumph of exactly the kind of technology that's supposed to be impossible: open, empowering tech that's not owned by any one company, that can't be controlled by any one company, and that allows people to have ownership over their work and their relationship with their audience.”

Using both #android and #iOS for similar tasks is really an interesting experience. Many apps are very similar in design and functionality but when it comes to #Mastodon and #podcasting … ooooh boy … most #android versions I could test are far superior.
If you're in #podcasting (however vaguely tangentially) and you're in #brisbane then come for a beer. Tell others to come for a beer. Thu Feb 22 in Brisbane.
It's such a shame that the podcast market has been so dominated by the company that did the same to US radio. Almost every show I listen to is covered in promos for other podcasts on the same network, with the same blurb at the end, it's absolutely maddening. I swear the ad breaks are longer than TV now.
Hey all you #PodcastersOfMastodon! I've just come into possession of a fantastic microphone, but beyond that am short of funds - so am wondering if anyone has any tips on good value XLR to USB cables (straight from dynamic mic into my Linux laptop) so I can make the most of this fabulous mic with minimal fuss (or hiss, haha). #podcasters#podcaster#podcasting#podcast#audio#AskFedi#Linux
You know that creator who makes that thing you love and doesn't charge anything for it? They might be struggling. A little support—financial, moral, and otherwise—can go a long way.
How are you able to follow #podcasts? In my experience they are 2-3 hours long and are at the lowest weekly. I’ve got no dedicated time for this, and if I try to listen in background I have no idea what they are taking about.
Sounds like trolling, but it’s a serious question. I’d love to be more into them, but I have no idea how.
@JoeRess is the hardest working guy in #Linux#podcasting, and he's got great talent on all the shows. But his killer move is to keep every show under half an hour. Nary a wasted word, leaves the audience wanting more.
