The sabotage of the #Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the #Baltic Sea shed new light on two incidents in the Norwegian Arctic involving the cutting of communication cables.
It turns out that in Norwegian "Gå løp" literally means "Go run". Not sure if those words in Norwegian are used together in such way very often, but at least I found some examples.
I'm amused that this sounds almost exactly like "Gallop" in English (BTW, there's a word "Галоп" in Russian that sounds almost identical to "Gallop".)

This is a bit off-topic, but today, I can proudly announce that I'm the new owner of a larger #Norwegian#ExLibris collection. Since I was a child, I've been intrigued by this art form & during my years in Berlin, I was part of the ExLibris society's exchange events.

@thor There’s a TV show for children that I still like to watch today. At the beginning of every episode they’ll give an overview of what they have for this week and then they repeat that in a foreign #language. You can guess which language it is and they tell you afterwards.
The other week they had a language that sounded like #Swedish. It sounds just a bit off, I thought. Maybe it’s not Swedish? But I recognize certain words... Must be #Danish or #Norwegian then.
I have eaten many rosettes in my life, but never made them. They are a #norwegian fried dough situation. The iron (first pic) is heated in oil, and then dipped in a thin batter. It is then re-dipped into the oil and the batter puffs up and falls off the iron. Repeat. Sprinkle with sugar.

I have spent some of today learning about the 2011 #Norwegian "butter panic".
#Butter saw a serious #shortage in late 2011 after too much rain & mismanagement. #Christmas was near & prices soared to €39/NOK 300 for 250g.
#Swedish supermarkets gave butter handouts to Norwegian customers & the #Danes had a TV special to help their neighbours, resulting in 4000 buttery gifts.
It's actually an interesting study in #monopolies & the problems of #rich countries.
