I don’t know why this 1997 song popped into my head earlier today. But it did. And playing it this evening made I’m a Tree from the same album to earworm in my head. Brains are weird.
Also I’m a Tree is a brilliantly bonkers mishmash of musical styles. I love it 🥰
There's another Twitch streamer, JonathanOng. He learns songs by ear and then does amazing things with a room full of synths and other instruments. I gave him that recording of Demons, and he spent an hour playing it, gradually adding layers and talking through the process. Then a volunteer from his community edited it down into a clean performance, and I love it. I just had to share.
We may be emotionally complex, unique and delightfully random beings, but these researchers, with the help of AI, think they can predict our next favorite song. If they're correct, what else could they predict?
How do you guys make music for your video games? I installed reaper and this is way too confusing 😭 what good resources are there to learn these programs?
I'm working on another song and I thought I'd go with a different tempo than it had when I wrote it. So I get the drums & percussion semi-dialed in, laid down some bass & went to bed.
I did a great job of preparing to record a completely different song, as I discovered today when I picked up the guitar to jam to it.
My sleeper vote for most psychedelic studio recording of all time is the last few minutes of Cabinessence from (any version of) the Beach Boys’ Smile album #psychedelic#music
