🎵 But I'll never do it better than I do it with you
So long, so long
And I would do anything for love
Oh, I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love but I won't do that 🎵
In 1993, Meat Loaf released his recording of I Would Do Anything for Love. It was an amazing track. The music video, directed by Michael Bay, was a wild Beauty and the Beast story.
This past week's Music Monday Animal Crossing post was based on a suggestion from MDMRN Twin 2 after re-watching the IVE music video.
This week, the MDMRN Twins have suggested individually for me to remake in Animal Crossing either YooA's "Rooftop" (Twin 2) or Handsome Dancer's "Coincidance" (Twin 1).
Some form of remake of either COULD be doable in Animal Crossing, but we'll see. I'll have to think about those two options...or other things that pop into my head.
🎵 I hurt myself today, to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain, the only thing that's real. 🎵
In 1995, Nine Inch Nails released this haunting tune with a music video that was a variety of images overlaid with Trent Renzor in concert. Kabuki recreates the concert venues here today.
In 2003, Johnny Cash released his cover of NIN's song. It was a haunting rendition from a man nearing the end. Walt is portraying the sorrow of Johnny Cash here.
I'm going to start doing #MusicMonday for you because I need something to think about that isn't forever dread.
Today is: The Frog Galliard by #JohnDowland, played on lute by Paul O'Dette.
JD is one of my favourite composers, he is a renaissance composer who mostly composed for lute. It's a calm piece and this recording is for solo lute - though there are (anonymous) lyrics set to it which you can find here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_o_now_I_needs_must_part
On this, rarest of Alabama snow days, I give you my first album to listen to.. some of the tracks were crafted with such a day in mind. Contemplative, meditative, moody music to drift away to? I got you, fam.

I need your #Christmas bops. Your #Hanukkah jams. The #Kwanzza clappers. Nondenominational end of the year jams. Bonus points for #NewYears hits. I will take everything you give me and create a playlist for every DSP, including something special for @radiofreefedi.
#MusicMonday: I have been pondering most of a week how exactly this song captures the heart of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Lyrics all about the bright shiny emblems of the season, but set to music that lays bare how empty those bright shiny things are, as CB himself experiences (even if no one else around him does). https://youtu.be/GPG3zSgm_Qo?feature=shared
Sozos Michael as Angus McFife wielding the ancient Hammer of Glory. Gloryhammer is one of my favorite bands and it was so awesome to see them live touring with Alestorm earlier this year – and they just announced that they're coming back, headlining another North American tour! Not the best quality photo ever but, hey, low light with only an iPhone SE, so cut me some slack. 😅
