There needs to be an #ergonomic#mechanical wireless #keyboard in a similar layout to the #Logitech Wave keyboard but with a volume dial instead of volume buttons. I haven't seen anything that's the exact same kind of non-split layout, and I prefer that over split because it's just curved enough.
To all the #mechanical#keyboard nerds… Looking for a customizable low profile 100% keyboard (wired! Not wireless!) which is ultra silent. Switches should be replaceable without soldering. Backlight is optional.
What I found by now: #Keychron Q6. But it is not low profile… and the most silent switches I found are Cherry MX Silent Red.
Would appreciate a boost for higher reach and more responses 😊
Project I've had sitting around for ages half finished has been this awesome wooden combination safe kit Robin gave me, and I (mostly) finished it today! I love wood as a working material and this was cool tech and learned how a combination lock works. I didn't do a great job of it but learned a lot, tempted to get another one and see how a more involved build with staining, sanding, waxing turns out. This one's from UGEARS and was cut out well and the pieces feel nice.
To be frank, it seems even hard to just find any keyboard in that form factor. I also see something about QMK firmware compatible keyboards, but I'm not sure how involved that process is, assuming you can find a compatible board in the first place....
Hey guys, looking for advice on my first build. I'm looking forward to building a Dactyl Manuform but I've run into some hiccups that I seek your advice on. I apologize in advance if my English is a bit wonky....

These are the requirements for a #mechanical#engineering job. It's for a MEP/HVAC role. Notice that there's no mention of Solidworks. Instead, they require 2 hours a day of REVIT. Oh boy... When I was an undergrad, no mechE had heard about that software, but I kept seeing it everywhere post graduation (for MEP roles obviously).
If you're worried about #LLM-based #AI, you're focusing on the wrong thing and may lack imagination.
This, and related developments (I can't view them as advancements, knowing how this all will end) are what's going to end the human race as we've known ourselves.
Much good can be derived from technologies like this, but we—being as we are—will ultimately go much to far.
I don't think we're prepared for our instant evolution (and, separately, eventual mechanization).
What downsides will there be to all of the positive effects of these radical improvements?
"Is it coercive to attach goods to the abilities of the body?"—which we do now so, yes—and to whom and how will people be indebted for their #augmentations?
Are there any 75% (compact TKL) keyboards with OpenRGB support?
