If you use a custom TLD for your local network (i.e. mux. in my case) and use Firefox you likely ran into it querying your next best search provider instead of directing you to your page.
Usually i went and ahead and just specified the protocol i want to use (http://<host>.mux) and that’s kind of tedious sometimes but today i learned that if you just add a trailing / it will direct you aswell!
Long story short:
When using Firefox with local custom domains type in host.tld/ instead of host.tld into your search bar.
Doch was taugen die Versprechen? Und wie viele Vitamine stecken überhaupt noch im schnellen Essen? 🍔🍟🍕
Next up: I got this from Irreal, which I know all of you Emacs people read. However, I just wanna repost it cuz I think I just spoke with this guy yesterday on IRC. Also, he has a cool blog.
Quick note: If you follow me, you probably noticed that I post occasional photos. Unfortunately, the default display behavior on most Mastodon instances and clients crops many images unless you click on them. I hate this, as does every other photographer here, but it's not likely to change any time soon.
You can disable this broken behavior in the Mastodon web interface by unchecking a box under display preferences.
But in any case, please be aware you might not be seeing the whole photo.
Did you know in python you can stick a for loop in the list brackets and just BAM have a list? No “append” check it:
l=[chr(i+65) for i in range(0,26)]
print(l)
> [‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, … , ‘Z’]
(it will be the letters A-Z since the unicode for the capital letter starts at 65, chr renders these numbers as letters.)
Is that classy? For some reason this neat little feature isn’t really taught. I guess with a loop and appending you have not flexibility— but still this is cool. #python#coding#tricks
