Nice little thing i have found today:

If you use a custom TLD for your local network (i.e. mux. in my case) and use Firefox you likely ran into it querying your next best search provider instead of directing you to your page.

Usually i went and ahead and just specified the protocol i want to use (http://<host>.mux) and that’s kind of tedious sometimes but today i learned that if you just add a trailing / it will direct you aswell!

Long story short:

When using Firefox with local custom domains type in host.tld/ instead of host.tld into your search bar.

on a side note: i really miss the times where you had a dedicated search and address bar and weren't able to search through the main bar.

i still split it up into two bars in the UI but it doesn't bring back the original direct-request only address bar :(
