The low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet comes with promises of weight loss, but a new study says it also has some serious health risks. In mice, a keto diet increases the buildup of zombie-like cells in the heart, kidneys, lungs and brain, which can accelerate organ aging and other health problems. Today's #HumbleSoup is rotisserie chicken, with sweet peppers, campari tomatoes, and avocado, seasoned with white cheese, preserved Meyer lemons, and Greek yogurt. Muy tasty! #keto#quickmeal
For someone trying to #run longer distances (I can do 10K in an hour but I want to run a half marathon), should I be aiming for a particular step cadence or ground contact time?
Currently #running slowly doing base runs and mixing in some sprints/threshold runs. Cadence is usually around 165-175 steps/min now.
@major If you can consistently do 10kms, you can run a half, just more slowly. Your cadence looks good to me (I'm slower @ 160), so then it comes down to building endurance. When you have the time, figure out a 21km route and give it a shot, and keep in mind to go slower. When you're in the last few KMs you can pour on any extra energy you have. You're doing 10km in 60 minutes, so I'd say aim for 2:30 for 21km. Good luck!
