The purple Game Boy Color was my first ever game system, followed by the purple #GBA and then the blue SP. The original DMG needs some repairs and replacement parts, it was a garage sale pickup years ago.
I use the #SteamDeck a lot nowadays, but I still try to make time for the #retro#handhelds. The mini #emulation handhelds can be a nice change of pace as well! Do you still like old school handhelds? Let me know!
Here's my physical Pokémon game collection. My first was actually a Pokémon TCG cartridge, but I traded it away to a childhood friend many years ago. Among the GBC games, Silver and Crystal need new save batteries. Blue, to my shock, still holds a save.
Also pictured: my EZ Flash Omega and Acekard 2i flash carts with many Pokémon games on them. The rest of my collection is entirely digital. Do you still have your old cartridges?
I wrote an article about the 3 games and just how good they are. Imo, they're extremely underrated. I really wanna play more games similar to it but I can't find much in the way of isometric collectathons(?) at all. Looking for any suggestions. Apologies if this isn't the right spot. GBA is retro right?...
Let’s talk about how #MarioKartSuperCircuit is a far better Mario Kart than Super Mario Kart on the SNES. Friends and I traveling together played hours of this linked together on over seas flights. Lots of good memories with this game. #GBA#GameboyAdvance#retrogaming
Estoy teniendo pensamientos bastante continuos respecto a las consolas Anbernic para jugar a juegos retro. Pero sé que luego no laa usaría demasiado y es un problema. #retrogaming#snes#ps1#nes#gba
Feature on the special E-Reader levels for Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 on Game Boy Advance from Nintendo Official Magazine 143 - August 2004 (UK)
These were never available in Europe since the system nor cards came out here.
A special version of the game with levels included was eventually released on the Wii U Virtual Console.
#retrogaming Who's got SHORT #gameboy homebrew, romhack, underrated, or translated games I can play on my #analogue Pocket?
That's technically anything below a PS1 with an FGPA core, more or less, though GB fits the aesthetic more.
Got it set up on it's dock finally, it's cool but WOOF be careful with your dock you WILL scratch the bottom if it's unprotected and you just push it in.
These days, gyroscope-driven games are commonplace, but this follow-up to the seminal WarioWare was novel back in 2004. The oversized cart’s built-in sensors imbued the game with physicality as you rotated the handheld to coax on-screen objects to do what was required, be that to tune a radio, direct some food down a digestive tract or balance an umbrella on a fingertip.
An excellent lesson, here, in the importance of extensive play-testing. On the surface, TSM looks like #SWOS on the GBA. It also somewhat plays like it, with a reasonably pacey overhead game, even if the player names bear no resemblance to the real world. The snag? Play one entire season and in the next you’re immediately booted out of every cup. Tsk. Red card for the QA folks.
Most of my gameboy advance carts were sold and most of my GB carts' batteries are dead...so Core recommendations? I figure I'll set up some cores, update it (no update over USB C 😔) and mess with it a bit
I saw once a GBA that had a cartridge with an USB-C port to put games inside without even having to disconnect it from the console.
Anyone knows if there's somewhere they sell that? #retrogaming#gba
I am once again asking for good (ideally short) #gameboy#gba rom hacks/Homebrew.
Mostly Pokemon but other stuff welcome. Just finished Pokemon FireRed Rocket Edition, I think I'll make a small post about it on my site. Thought of doing at least a mini review (mini for me usually meaning like, only 1000 words) of every game I finish this year.
Anyone know any games similar to the Spyro GBA ones? Isometric collectathons? I need more like this.
