I’m here to make friends and be part of a larger community.
I don’t view things as good vs bad. There’s not always a victim, villain, and savior. Life is much more complex than that. For that reason, I’m not one to assume ill-intent. I love to learn new things.
Some of the best advice that I can give to magick practitioners is to avoid comparing yourself to other practitioners. Comparing yourself to others won't lead to growth like focusing on your path and putting in the Work will, but it will steal your joy by inciting feelings of inadequacy.
I work in #devops by day, and love working with Linux, postgreSQL and open things like that. I used to live in #Portland Oregon, but have relocated to the #detroit#michigan area.
For the month of August, I'm doing a social media and Patron giveaway of three copies of Tarot: Mirror of the Soul by Gerd Ziegler, courtesy of the publisher Weiser Books Details on the library blog, and in posts on the library's Patreon, Threads, and Mastodon.
Have you got something to share? If you've created something, send it in for the Hermetic Library Zine! If you've got an upcoming event, let's add it to Hermetic Library Calendar! Head to the blog for submission information.
Do the words choose me? Does the Universe use me as a conduit? Where do the words come from, where does the inspiration come from? Is my imagination that incredible? Is my vision capable of producing concepts of new worlds, people, places, things that I have never seen, never heard of? Where does creative thought come from? Who inspires? What is the creative mind? Why are some gifted with more profound esoteric thinking, questioning and understanding?
I have always thought that people who have incredible gifts in life, such as notable artists, painters, scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, sculptors, athletes, empaths, healers, musicians, dancers, should have the responsibility to create. I have always believed that they should contribute to a better world, a complex and diverse world, where difference and creativity are respected, honoured and valued. However, I realised it was not just about the end product, and that actually my belief was quite elitist. Does it matter who creates, or why? Why should someone have more right to being creative simply because their skill and product is deemed more valuable than others? Who assigns value? Is the value of art simply in the creation? Or is it in the end product? Surely, we all feel art and creative energy differently, surely it is a personal journey. A journey based on a collective language, yet one that is punctuated with a unique personal accent and meaning. #Philosophy#writing#creativetoots#esoteric
This news is from almost exactly 8 years ago. Softpedia reported 13 days later that eBay partially patched it, but the patch was insufficient. I could not find further updates, but I do know that eBay has since removed more advanced JavaScript (incl. JSFuck) from all listings in 2017....

Embrace the brutality of life's cyclical nature.
TIL JSFuck, an esoteric subset of JS that only uses operators, could be used to hack eBay customers by injecting it into item listings. As JSFuck obfuscated the actual code, attackers were able to get browsers that see the listing to run external scripts. (arstechnica.com)
