today I have released my new single 'Glades'. A midtempo/downtempo song with a soft fluttery synth line that dances around an enchanting music box sample, hope you enjoy! ✨
I must say I'm really enjoying the new English Teacher album. It's probably best thought of as post-punk but it defies easy categorization. It's as often chill as it is skronky and the vocals are talky but melodic. Their secret weapon is Lily Fontaine, the young, black, female poet they have as a vocalist/lyricist. The album is a real grower. It shouldn't be my thing at all but I'm really digging it https://englishteacher.bandcamp.com/album/this-could-be-texas#NewMusic#NowPlaying#PostPunk#Leeds#Bandcamp#EnglishTeacher#Music
We're working to make a #Federated alternative to #Bandcamp where up and coming bands can connect with fans and share their music on the Fediverse.
The progress is really encouraging, so it's time to get some feedback from real #musicians
My goal is to have something you could actually use in the next month or two. So please get your ideas in so's I can squeeze them into my launch calendar.
Dagens liste har tittelen "Catching Up With Electronic Music in Portugal".
"Nearly all of the inclusions are from musicians whose current recording is a departure from what came before. In some instances, it’s a small change and, perhaps, even foreseen. For others, it’s out of the blue."
I've already received part of my haul from this month's Bandcamp Friday. Rather than wait until everything arrives, especially since one set of discs is tracking for mid-May, here's what I've got so far!
whoopsie. i joined Fedi a few months ago then
(1) got a job
(2) developed an overbearing paranoia about online privacy and stuff
(3) embarked on a WAY overcomplicated journey to back up and synchronise my digital life
and as a consequence felt i didn't have time to "maintain" an "online presence" :wshum:
but i'm back now (with a fresh username)! i kinda take everything too seriously - it's just fun to see what everyone's up to :gphn_happy:
heya! i'm Tori and i take everything way too seriously, so let's get this outta the way.
i'm a late-blooming computer person, doing #GameEngine#GameDev and also wanting to try more #Compiler stuff - there's so much to learn and it's all so EXCITING, ugh!
some media to get to know me:
A Short Hike, Celeste, Mega Man and all things #Nintendo
digital fusion, chiptune, spicy math rock, jungle, lofi and everything inbetween (#Bandcamp user!)
Studio Ghibli, the Patlabor movies, Gatchaman Crowds
i love #IndieGame(s) and music by small creators and open source and stuff! hope spending time here will put more cool works on my radar.
I always love buying CDs or vinyl from artists, especially indie artists. There’s something special about that haptic feeling, it feels more “real” . I have merch, too. CDs, handwritten lyrics, CD bundles. All on Bandcamp.
It's #BandcampFriday, where BC waives their fees from sales so artists get all the $$$. If you consider yourself a music fan, I'm challenging you to spend AT LEAST as much today at Bandcamp as you spend every month on music streaming services, OR MORE.
@msbellows a lot of artists have patreons and ko-fi accounts! Otherwise, you can buy their music directly from them on sites like #Bandcamp and jam.coop that take only a small portion of each sale.
And failing all that, most artists will happily tell you how to give them money if you ask 😅
