Today is #EarthDay .🌏

In 2019 I came across a post in a French Facebook group. Franck Deschamps was looking for someone to write the music for his lyrics, Petite planète. 🌍

I immediately liked them and wrote the song and arranged it. It was my first production from home.

Today is a good day to donate to the National Victim’s Fund since Bandcamp are waiving their revenue share.

Friendship Bench is a song about the aftermath of the Columbine shooting. Hugh Webber wrote the lyrics from the perspective of a person who lost a friend in the shooting. The lyrics capture the struggle of the surviving friend in a way that gives me goosebumps.

Yesterday I went to the Espace Brassens. Georges Brassens was a famous French chansonnier who was from Sète, a town nearby.

It was fascinating ! Apparently he wrote 7 or 8 melodies per song (!) and stayed with the one he thought worked best! I’m glad if I can find one! 😂

I just saw this post on insta saying that “regularly releasing new #music keeps fans engaged and coming back for more.”

IMHO this is a complete and utter myth that just puts pressure on artists.

Personally, I don’t mind if someone disappears and doesn’t release anything for a while. On the contrary- if they do release regularly, I get overwhelmed easily and in the worst case I lose interest and never come back!

Am I the only one?
