Our emergency replacement May episode is here! Join @McKenzie_Ben as he shares some of your stories of “starting in the wrong place” in a celebration of this year’s #TerryPratchettDay theme.
Many years ago, unable to sleep at a sleepover, I found a copy of Reaper Man sitting on a windowsill, so I read it. I was sold immediately, and bought every Terry Pratchett book I could get my hands on. New ones were still coming out regularly, so it was an exciting time. Happy #TerryPratchettDay!
Happy birthday, Terry Pratchett, born 28th April 1948. I was in a B&B in Leverburgh, Harris, when the news broke of his death, and had to explain to the landlord why I was so affected, but Terry's books were some of my earliest influences. My very first "book" was pretty much an attempt at a Discworld-style universe. "Mort" is still one of my all time favourite books. #TerryPrachett#discworld#TerryPratchettDay
The scheduling gremlins have got us again - we’ve had to delay #Pratchat77, our previously announced short story episode about “Hollywood Chickens" and “From the Horse's Mouth”.
But we are embracing the chaos: our May episode will now be all about this year’s #TerryPratchettDay theme: “Start in the Wrong Place!”
So if your first #Discworld or #TerryPratchett novel wasn’t The Colour of Magic or the usual recommendations, tell us: where did you start?
Announcing the theme for Terry Pratchett Day 2024: START IN THE WRONG PLACE.
"Don't start in the right place!" they often say of #TerryPratchett's work. So, let's truly embrace the joy and chaos to be found in the many routes through #Discworld and beyond.
