#Trump's allies are preparing the #MAGAts for his conviction on #felony charges related to his payment of #hushMoney to #StormyDaniels in the weeks prior to the #2016election. They're putting out all the absurd legal theories, and justifications for his unjustifiable conduct so that when he's inevitably found #guilty, the MAGAts are ready to parrot the nonsense his team is pushing.
In 2006, …Donald #Trump met the adult-film star #StormyDaniels. According to Daniels, things got intimate. (“The sex was nothing crazy,” she would go on to say.) A decade later, Trump was running for President, as a kind of #Republican uber-family man, drawing crucial support from #conservative, #evangelical voters. Daniels decided to go public: her encounter w/ Trump had taken place while he was already married to his third wife, Melania.
In the midst of this frenzy, the #NationalEnquirer’s editor got in touch w/ #Trump’s lawyer #MichaelCohen, who negotiated a $130k fee to buy Daniels’s silence, avoiding further scandal. Cohen paid the fee himself, & was reimbursed by the #TrumpOrganization in installments identified on company records as “retainer” payments for “services rendered.”
Would Trump have lost the 2016 Presidential election if #StormyDaniels had gone public w/ her story? Prosecutors in Manhattan think maybe so.

State Supreme Court judge blocked #Trump’s attempt to gain access to #NBC’s documentary material related to adult film actress #StormyDaniels.
Manhattan Judge Juan #Merchan said Trump atty’s subpoena was “far too broad” & did not meet the #legal standard to compel #NBCUniversal to turn over docs & other items related to the documentary “Stormy.”
“In the instant matter, the Defendant seeks ‘all’ documents, including but not limited to vague & overbroad requests,” #Merchan wrote in the ruling issued Friday.
