Kolumbo is the submarine volcano near Santorini, Greece. Its eruption in the 17th century BC, and the tsunami that followed, destroyed the Minoan civilization in Crete and the eastern Mediteranean.
Now its chamber appears to pose a serious hazard as it could produce a highly explosive, tsunamigenic eruption in the near future.
