Started looking at programming the APU. I should probably just use Famitone2 or some other standard format, but… I kinda want to implement something custom to go along with the open source/from scratch mindset of the project. I’ve already updated the build tool to parse aseprite files (just parse at the moment) for sprites and animations, so it shouldn’t be too much more to parse some other format for music/sfx and put into something easy for the 6502 and APU to interpret. #solodev#gamedev#nes
The first RPG I ever played to completion. Having played other similar games on newer platforms, I never felt any RPG truly sparked my interest. Radia Senki or Chronicle of Radia War was quite the adventure and I will gladly come back to it in the future!
The #NES version of Maniac Mansion had an awesome soundtrack, probably one of the best soundtracks on the console IMHO. And this is a solid cover of "Dave's Theme". :thinkergunsunglasses:
It's so much fun to have to wait several months for a physical #NES game to be delivered to me. I get excited thinking about what the manual will look like, what will the box art be like, if the cartridge itself will have any bells and whistles, and how will it play once I stick it into my NES.
Did some work on the title screen for the Steam version of Fire and Rescue.
I'm quite fond of having the Skyboy Games logo fade to one on the TV screen.
