Through the haze and fog of gloom
I glimpse brighter times just up ahead
but how to choose to change my doom
and walk towards the light instead?
From the darkest hounds to break free
is the mighty task that faces me
Politicians want to improve our worsening mental health with big psychiatric initiatives. The problem with this model, says historian of #neuroscience Danielle Carr, is that it ignores the social and structural forces causing widespread #mental#suffering.
But if I do it's shit load of dealing with management and their 'tisk-tisk! Why are you taking care of yourself instead of sacrificing yourself to the cult, errr company!'
Misinformation has a significant impact on #MentalHeath because the dissemination of unverified information causes #uncertainty, #anxiety, and a profound sense of mistrust.
We are bombarded with contradicting advice, alarming stories, and unproven therapies as social media platforms and unregulated online sources proliferate, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish reliable information from lies.
It should be obvious by now, even to the dullards in our midsts, that Donald #Trump is not just a controversial figure, but a person with severe #MentalHeath problems clinical professionals have openly addressed.
Trump is a toxic narcissist because he continually demonstrates his demand to be admired, while never caring about the very people who admire him.
It's impossible to emphasize enough how dangerous these traits are for freedom, democracy, and the well-being of our society as a whole.
A lot of people feel scared when they think about death. In fact, “fear” might not be the right word. I think “terror” is a better one. But is being afraid of death a reasonable reaction? The word “appropriate” is very important here. I’m not going to say that I don’t think a lot of people are afraid of death. What I want to know is if being terrified of death is the right thing to feel.
The thing I did not realize about the sentence "You need to learn to say 'No'.", is that most of the time when you have to say "No", nobody actually asked you a question beforehand. #WellBeing#MentalHeath
Capitalism Makes People Mentally And Physically Sick And Disabled
That’s right, “all research on the social determinants of mental illness implicates capitalism.” It is clear that capitalism is linked to racism, colonialism, and patriarchy. It is also clear that capitalism is linked to the pain of women, people of color, the colonized, and other marginalized groups.
"As if we all haven't personally experienced it already "
So, I just took an important decision. I realized lately that stress impacted my #mentalheath a lot. I knew that social media was partly a cause but I can’t get rid of it since it’s my bread and butter. However, I know now that another thing impacted me big time: news. 🗞️
I’ve been a little bit too obsessed with following what’s happening in Canada and the world in the past year and frankly, it’s not pink at all… I have tools that follow over 40 news sources…
I'd like to have a polycule that's a representative sample of all the genders to reciprocate love and lust with, but many days I struggle just to get out of bed. #disability#mentalheath#trans#queer#poly
