At the #library, I picked up the debut novel by Tommy Orange, an #Oakland-based Native writer.

Ilan Ramon was the first #Israeli#astronaut, and also lost his life aboard Space Shuttle Columbia.
Miraculously, the diary he kept, containing his personal feelings as well as descriptions of the historic event he was a part of, somehow landed relatively intact in Texas after the disaster. It has been preserved and now is at the National #Library of #Israel where it is on extended loan.
I have shared this before from the #Denton Public #Library, and I am sure it just a fluke of the Dewey Decimal System, but surely someone was having fun picking these topics for the sign.
@thepoliticalcat@compost It depends on the plant. Perennials get mulched with it and annuals get a fresh start each year with compost mixed in the native soil unless it's a melon, in which case they get mounds of 100% compost. And in my compost is lots and lots of used Starbucks coffee grounds...note that native soil is on the alkaline side.
A photo shared by Israeli soldiers and media on Thursday shows a soldier holding a book while a fire burns behind him in the Al-Aqsa University library, one of the largest libraries in the Gaza Strip.
