My mother's back garden, February 2024 (a land art series through the Philippine seasons). The talisay tree is shedding leaves, so she thought she'd arrange them between the tree roots! She is collecting dried pine needles for the right side of the installation. #Philippines#LandArt
The Spiral Jetty, a large earthwork sculpture made by Robert Smithson in 1970. It is constructed of basalt rocks and extends into the northern end of the Great Salt Lake. Human for scale, if you can find them (near the center of the spiral).
Land art participatif : à l'aide de dizaines de volontaires, Sonja Hinrichsen crée des motifs en spirales et arabesques dans la neige, grâce à leurs traces de pas.
For those who feel a need for a little protection, may this energy reach you. 💚 Nothing evokes Protection for me more than holly. An altar of stone, holly in three colours, and ivy. Should I have worn gloves? That would have been ideal. 😌 But I didn’t know I was making this until I started making it.
Autumn Equinox, my favourite holiday. May you find your balance between giving and receiving, between work and rest, between caring for others and caring for your self. May you find your balance in the dark, may you find it in the light, may you find it in the middle. 💚🐦⬛
My mother's back garden land art, in the rainy season. She replaced the palm fronds on the right with pine needles. And a fern, and some of the talisay seeds have grown. The seedlings will be replanted in another area of our property. But for now they will decorate the installation. #LandArt#Philippines
Follow-up post showing my mom's land art efforts despite the rainy season. The talisay tree fruits keep falling, feeding the bats and the butterflies and the gnats. #LandArt
My mother was feeling artistic and wanted to do something with dried palm fronds and the fallen fruits of the talisay tree, so she did the following mosaic following the exposed tree roots in the back of the house. She declares it will stop the soil from eroding when it rains. #LandArt
