I wonder how much salty bigoted IT folks got upset about the #Kubernetes#uwubernetes 'Furry' update
I mean I haven't seen any yet, but surely if someone is having fun and being inclusive in some ways, there must be someone else upset about that, it's basically a universal rule at this point :laughcry:
"For the people who built it, for the people who release it, and for the #furries who keep all of our clusters online, we present to you Kubernetes v1.30: Uwubernetes, the cutest release to date."
Today, I checked out #NeuVector from #SUSE and it made a good initial impression on me. It was intuitive, categorized results in a meaningful way, and combines various concepts that I like from Red Hat Insights, Clair, and ManageIQ into a common platform.
Microsoft's Aspire framework looks cool to manage simple application with few dependencies.
It allows to write in application code the dependencies, and when deployed they start automatically.
For example if you add dependency to PostgreSQL or Redis then when started it starts it. Locally it uses K8s, but apparently when deployed to Azure it can use containers or services.
No need to write YAML, just pure C# & Nuget to get external services working.
It's time to replace Ingress on your #Kubernetes cluster, and @Tetrateio has an alternative, Tetrate Enterprise Gateway for Envoy, for you to consider.
So picking up an #IntelArc A380 seemed like a good idea at the time to get a reasonably cheap, low-profile GPU with AV1 support that can run off bus power alone.
Unfortunately I didn't do my own research, and the consumer #Intel discrete GPUs don't play particularly nicely with virtualisation. Intel has seemingly intentionally gimped the consumer Arc cards by removing virtualisation support, while their data centre GPU line on almost identical silicon support it.
There's ways around all of that, which I think I've just about worked out, but the #Linux Intel drivers (i915) don't play particularly well with Linux guests either, which has given me a whole new set of challenges to solve.
All in all, it's be a fun three days, with I'm sure another fun three days of trial and error ahead.
Run your own #kubernetes cluster on #raspberrypi's they said, it will be fun they said. So now once every blue moon there is a leader change in the middle of a #terraform apply 🤣
@wyri
I fought with #Terraform and Helm for a while, but gave up. Feels like TF does not mix well with #Kubernetes operations, but it's great to spin up a cluster.
