On the German-speaking internet, we write "orrrrr" (with a variable amount of "r"s and, to a lesser extent, "o"s) as an expression of annoyance or anger, especially (but not exclusively!) when we only play being annoyed. Examples (translated):

"orrrr that was the most awful pun ever"

"oorrrrrrr, the bus is 20 minutes late already!"

It's supposed to be a grumpy growl, like in the attached audio.

Is there something similar in English or other languages as well?

German Defense Minister Pistorius on conversations with generals intercepted by the Russians:

“The reason why it was still possible to record a telephone conversation among the ranks of the Air Force lies in an individual error… Not all participants followed the procedure of secure call.

According to reports, the data leak occurred on a participant from Singapore, who was connected via an unauthorized connection, i.e. effectively via an open connection"

I have long been wondering why on earth the #FSB would give up a huge intelligence advantage just to sow some dissension in #NATO.

The explanation now given by the #German defense minister, therefore makes great sense:
One 🪖 officer was "simply" too careless to follow security protocol.
He should face consequences for this irresponsible behavior. But that's it.
The West should move on, as any further dissension would only...

Russia burned that attack vector by publishing 38 minutes of that call. Interesting.

The mayor of accused Yuval Abraham of antisemitism for calling for to stop enabling Israel's genocide in Palestine and an immediate dismantling the apartheid system during his award speech. This should be a wakeup call for Germans but unfortunately it won't be, because for them is merely an alibi for supporting genocide; society routinely hazes any who refuses to provide that alibi, arresting protestors and smearing us with accusations of antisemitism for upholding the core Jewish duty of opposing politics as inscribed in the Gemara of Ketubot 111a:4 of the (most explicitly, but also appearing in various shapes and forms across countless other tractates from Berachot to Avoda Zarah)

I am consitently fascinated with how German actually eliminates vocabulary but in turn actually increases the length of a lot of words, but also makes German a shorter language. My first experience was my first time on the autobahn with Ein/Ausfahrt. In the US it's onramp and exit.

Next was when we were building our kitchen and the building had Ein/ausgang. Entrance and exit. But now I have received a promotion and I am doing more exacting and bureactratic work. Recently it was Ausnahme and Maßnahme. Nahmen is the präteritum conjugation of the verb Nehmen (En: to take). Präteritum vs Present is like take vs took. An aus ( en:out ) nahme ( en:take ). Out-take therefore exception or the grounds for an exception. Maß is measure so a measured take is a step or a procedure.

German makes things very efficient so the word Bundesverfasungsgericht is Federal Constitutional Court ( Supreme Court ) and Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän translates to Donau Steamboat Company Captain. And it gets much much worse. But I can't lie it is quite efficient and actually lowers the bar for understanding. I don't need a large vocabulary just the ability to parse words over 50km in length.

OK, let's keep it simple. If I write: "The State of #Israel is using the same methodologies against the #Palestinians as the then #German #Nazis were using against the #Jews. Hence, the State of Israel is the New #Nazi State". Does such a statement offends against mastodon.world's moderation rules or not?

Well, today some of my posts were removed because of "Holocaust Inversion".

What a load of rot. Claiming that #Israel is doing the same as what was done to the #Jews by the then #German #Nazis is a statement of an observable fact. It is not #antisemitic or implies all of the #Jewish people.

Yes, I did appeal, but to be honest I don't expect much from this.

To me, this removal of my posts is an indication that some person(s) controlling mastodon.social are bowing to #Zionist pressure.
