It boggles my mind that day lilies only last for a day, and I had my doubts, but turns out it’s true! Yesterday’s bloom has faded, only to be outshone by an absolutely stunning sibling today!
We have a few red daylilies in the garden but this one is my favourite. It's called Omega Red and the colour is deeper than the photo and the petals have a rich velvety appearance. Starts flowering at the end of June and flowers for at least 3 weeks.
I’m so proud of my flowers and shrubs this year! I don’t have a green thumb and usually psych myself out from even attempting to grow anything, but I’m really trying this year. These pics are of established plants that came with the house, so I just need to let them do their thing and focus on not accidentally killing them. This year, for the 1st time, I actually tried pruning them. Seems to have helped! The rose bush is the fullest it’s ever been. 🌹❤️
And finally, my daylily (and one more close up pic of the purple coneflower, because I’m very excited about that one!). Despite the bent leaves and brown/yellow spots, I have discovered a bud! Go, daylily, go!
