Some form of #religion could exist within a #communist society, but I would much rather religion have little to, preferably, no part of such a society simply due to the damage that any kind of faith-based beliefs or religious authority of any kind could bring.

Does the fact that the inquisition and fascist contemporary evangelical churches exist make the teachings of sharing, non-violence, love and forgiveness wrong ?
Same for existence of gulags or state repression in USSR vs the possibility of a classless society not designed on exploitation and profits.

True #communism is fundamentally different from the authoritarian regimes that have claimed to be #communist in the past. There's a huge difference between state #socialism, which often leads to oppression and authoritarianism, and libertarian communism, which advocates for a classless, stateless society based on voluntary cooperation and mutual aid.

People are bound to criticize #communism, but at the very least if they do it would be beneficial to everyone if they understood the difference between authoritarian and libertarian interpretations of communism. It would make for a lousy debate if someone's debating against a Libertarian #Communist while using arguments against Marxism-Leninism, an event that happens all too often.
I'm especially interested in the potential conflict between concepts of #land#landback and #property and rights concerning #geography between cultures who associate themselves with belonging to the land vs. so-called true nomadic or semi-nomadic cultures (not so much pastoral nomads who still have a sense of belonging to a specific geography).

Today in Labor History March 16, 1978: The far-left terrorist group Red Brigades (BR) kidnapped Former Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro. They murdered him 55 days later. There are lots of hypotheses about their motivations, many of which are considered fringe. One hypothesis claims they did it to stop Moro’s mediation between the Communist Party and the Christian Democrats in order to halt the CP’s rise to power so as to increase the BR’s influence within the Left. Other hypotheses include the idea that BR had been infiltrated and manipulated by the CIA or by Gladio, a clandestine paramilitary associated with NATO.
The capitalist ruling class uses propaganda, manipulation, and false promises to maintain control over the masses, just as the axe convinces the trees to vote for it despite the threat it poses. We need solidarity among the working class to counter and dismantle of hierarchical power structures that corrupt our minds and actions.
Today in Labor History March 12, 1967: Suharto took power from Sukarno in Indonesia. He ruled Indonesia as an authoritarian, kleptocratic dictator for 31 years, and is widely considered one of the most brutal and corrupt dictators of the 20th century. During that time, he amassed a fortune worth $38 billion. Suharto rose to power under Sukarno during the 1965-1966 genocide. During that ostensibly anti-Communist purge, Suharto’s troops murdered 1-3 million communists, labor activists, peasants and ethnic minorities. During that genocide, he received support military and economic from both the U.S. and the U.K. In 1974, the Suharto regime, with approval of U.S. president Gerald Ford, invaded East Timor, killing over 200,000 Timorese. Another 75,000-200,000 died from starvation and disease. The current Indonesian government is considering awarding him the posthumous honor of National Hero.
