A panning on the #camera that went well. That river in the middle is what separates #India from #Myanmar. On the right is Myanmar (Chin state) and on the left is India (Champhai state). Circa when a military coup happened and when the situation had cooled down a bit. Was advised not to stay the night on the Myanmar side so crossed the bridge around sunset, stayed in a local hotel, and came back to the Myanmar side during daylight.
🆕 blog! “Review: InfiRay Thermal P2 Pro USB-C Camera for Android”
★★★★⯪
The good folks at InfiRay have sent me their latest Infrared camera to review. It is tiny. It's smaller than a normal USB stick and barely weighs anything. Shove the USB-C protrusion into your Android phone, launch the app, and... nope - that's it! Pretty much instantly plug a…

Camera Thermal Throttling: Has Sony Fixed the XPERIA 1 V?
Tracking JUST 4K video recording, let's see if phones this year are REALLY running cooler than phones sold last year!
Kolejny nabytek Welta Belmira, aparat dalmierzowy najprawdopodobniej z przełomu lat 50 i 60, fantastycznie wykonany.
Give this one a boost! You probably know a photographer or a hobbyist looking for a NICE tripod! https://youtu.be/hJsYmtUpWGA
Who would have thought that we'd be seeing this level of "tripod innovation" these days? Blows my mind how far we've come over the last five years...
A cloudy day snap from the "poorest premium phone camera" I reviewed of last year. When even the weakest cameras on our phones can turn out shots like this, I think we're in pretty good shape for mobile photography.
Sure. A Sony is expensive if you just do BASIC phone things with it, but that really isn't the point of an XPERIA is it?
Taking a quick tour through the External Monitor mode, it's crazy to think how little we're really tapping into the amazing compute power of our phones...
LT: Is there a #camera app for iOS that will superimpose an image of my choice over the preview?
I want to take a photo of an external hard drive I have and imitate the framing of the macOS external storage device icon (so I can then use the photo as the custom icon of my external drives).
What’s your advice when taken your #camera abroad?
In a month I’m heading on holiday to #Menorca and while I’ll just be chilling I’ve managed to convince my partner to spend a day at the island’s #nature reserve. Would you advise taking my new camera (Lumix G9)? It is insured but how is it best to travel with expensive gear? Should I play it safe and just take the FZ330?
If you live in the South of the UK, come and say Hi! at the free Castle Cameras Spring Shoot on Tuesday near Wimborne. There will be a full program of events including a presentation and demo by yours truly.
These four images depicting #Mandelbrot sets date back to the early 90’s. My brother computed them back then on his #AtariST (which still exists and still works), displayed them on a friend’s color #TV and took the #Screenshots with his #DSLR#Camera. He then produced paper prints, framed them and gave them to me as a birthday present for my 25th. birthday. 👍
The images still exist in all their glory. 👍 That was a one of a kind present. 🤣 #Atari#Color
A close up of a beautiful male #mallard duck along the grassy banks of the River Dee in #Aberdeen.
Believe it not, this image was taken at ISO6400 as the the sun had not broken through the clouds at 5.55am.
I’m extremely impressed with the capabilities of the Panasonic #LumixG9 when paired with #Topaz denoise. It’s certainly expanding the ability to shoot at different times of day even when the weather is not optimal!
So today has been possibly the #best photo walkabout I've had.
It started off by spotting what I think was a #Mink and following it along the river for a while. Unfortunately, I have had to report it as it is invasive here.
I then spent some time watching the #sandmartins before capturing what I think is my best #bird in flight photo of a #heron (I'll share it next week!).
Then...I saw what I've seen flashes of for weeks...a #Kingfisher
It perched up on the a branch the other side of the river but long enough to get some snaps and a short video. I also then managed to capture it flying off again (image attached). Truly an amazing experience to finally see one of these in the wild for the first ever time.
Then while finishing my walk I encountered some deer!!
I guess that's what happens when the sun shines for the first time in #Aberdeen in what feels like a month!
