Diskettenmagazine waren frühe elektronische Multimedia-Journale der 1980er und 1990er Jahre, die auf Diskette verbreitet wurden und nur auf den jeweils passenden Geräten benutzbar waren. Bibliotheken und Archive haben diese sogenannten „Diskmags" damals nicht berücksichtigt, mittlerweile stellen die ca. 2.500 Magazine aber eine wertvolle Quelle für die Forschung und die Diskmags-Communities dar. Das vorgestellte Projekt baut einen Katalog auf und macht Texte durchsuchbar.
@blotto Ich war beim #37c3 in einer #Gesundheitstelematik-Session (keine Aufzeichnung) mit lauter IT-Leuten als auch Medizinern aus den Praxen.
Zu meiner Überraschung war dort gar nichts über die #TI Thema. Dort waren die vorherrschenden Themen, dass die Praxen quasi keine Admins, keine Sicherheitskonzepte, keine geschulten MA, keine ordentliche Software, usw. haben.
Klang für mich so gar nicht danach, dass das Thema #Sicherheit und #Datenschutz in den Praxen Mindeststandards erfüllt.
Ich bin mal wieder ehrlich und sage, dass diese moralische Arroganz von Teilen des #Fediverse mir doch tierisch auf den Sack geht. Sei es #Klimaschutz, #Ernährung oder #Technik. Damit ist man halt einfach nicht besser als der Gegenpol.
Auf dem #37c3 Kongress hatte ich neben einer Person gesessen, die durch ihr ganzes Äußeres quasi "Diversity" auf der Stirn geschrieben hatte.
Das Gespräch war aber nach zehn Sekunden beendet und wurde durch eine unangenehme Stille ersetzt. Eines von nur zwei Gesprächen, die nicht gut verlaufen sind.
Ein paar Tage später ist mir aufgefallen warum. Die Antwort auf eine Frage war praktisch: "Was willst Du überhaupt? Ich sehe gar kein Problem."

@jwildeboer@EU_Commission@EDPS there was talk of this at the #37c3 in December. It seems the problem then was: there is nobody in the EU agencies willing take over running the instances & the EDPS can't run these servers perpetually as that'd require them to regulate themselves.
Though the title js a bit misleading: it mainly focuses on #EUVoice, #EUVideo - and the problems and concerns that governments have (and should have) with publishing and using social media (especially such that they don't own).
Juhu. Heute haben wir unsere access points für die #Eink Displays fertig gebastelt und in Betrieb genommen. Die Displays haben wir auf dem #37C3 von der @cbase bekommen. Vielen Dank noch einmal dafür! Einige werden wir hier als Raumschilder und einige als Info Displays nutzen.
@paavi I had a brief hands-on with an MNT Pocket Reform prototype at #37c3, and while it liked it a lot (it feels rock solid!), it's too much more bulky for this use case — at that point I can just as well carry my Surface Go 2.
I am about to make a simple automatic plant grow system, based on an ESP8266. Luckily I got a #Chirp from Catnip Electronics https://wemakethings.net/chirp/ at #37c3 which covers pretty much all of the parameters, I want to measure ^.^

Is there any TLD registry (not registrar) and accompanying domain name extension (.com, .net and so on) out there that’s owned by a small/independent, i.e. trustworthy business? Feels like they’re all owned by some creepy mega-corp.
.blog owned by Automattic is a decent example, though they’re not exactly very indie anymore, and have come under strong scrutiny of late. I wonder if there are even better alternatives.

I wonder what Njalla things about this situation since they are some of the only people trying to run a registrar quite differently. Also I just heard at #37c3 from the GNUnet GNS people that they just got approval of .alt and they are planning to run it as far as I understood.
