Canadian biochemist & organic chemist Maud Lenora Menten was born #OTD in 1879.
She made significant contributions to enzyme kinetics and histochemistry, & invented a procedure that remains in use. She is most famous for her collaboration with German biochemist Leonor Michaelis in developing the Michaelis-Menten equation, a fundamental concept in enzyme kinetics.
